What's so hard to understand about walking uphill both ways to school? I had to go over a really big hill on the way to the school. You went up it, then back down, then you were at the school. Then when you walk home, you have to go up it and then back down in the other direction. Stupid kids. ;)

Filipina here! I still vividly remember when I was in second grade in the year 2005, our strict teacher made two boys (who were the noisiest in the class) kneel outside where they can be seen by EVERYONE and pinned black paper hearts on their left chest to show everyone that they're bad kids until the class day ends at 4pm! It was such a huge shock even for 6-year-old me and I remembered how sad and ashamed they looked.😥
@theperson85392 жыл бұрын
It's kinda weird, I'm Indian, and my parents and their peers were openly beaten in school. I was too, on one occasion, but it was after the practice was criminalised, and it was a lot more brutal with an air of public humiliation about it. The vibes are so different, my parents are actually weirdly braggadocios about their past, whereas my event and the gaslighting (legitimate gaslighting, on at least two occasions, and the other one was ludicrously worse and so cruel that it baffles me more than anything else) that followed are some of the most traumatic events of my life.

People in metro cities might have not gone through the teacher kicking the students ass. Every 90s kid remember their maths teacher doing experiments with the scale. It was fun and yes sometimes it used feel bad. No matter what school will be the best part in everybody's life.
@evon44412 жыл бұрын
I was in the 10 standards 10 years ago, and my math teacher said we could never get over 90 out of 100 in mathematics. He also added, "I will cut my ears if you obtain over 90 in boards." These kinds of insults were common, and they're still there. By the way, I got 95 out of 100 and said thank you to him later.

That is abuse ?! what happened in my school? These are the things teachers used to call us :- - Useless Weight on Earth - Slob on skeleton - One with Xray visions (because we could only see whats happening outside the class and not inside) These were the punishments - Holding book in hand till recess in a class junior to yours - Becoming a rooster outside / inside class (rooster is like squatting while your hands are coming through your legs and holding your ears ) - Standing outside your class keeping hands up - Getting slapped / beaten with duster or book

@loveIzuku78782 жыл бұрын
Yeah we also got that in school and even now it's done in almost all schools...it's probably early childhood training of becoming immune to such shaming because when you enter job field it's an everyday life and those who don't cultivate themselves well can suffer from depression and other mental health..some just become a quiter of their jobs and end up nowhere...it's a way to teach kids to move forward regardless of what comes in life...since everyone in class get to be messed up by teacher it's just normal everyday school life and kids teacher bonding grows strong..they know if the teacher can be cruel to them as their student imagine how cruel they can be if someone else tries to mess with their class student...teachers are very protective of their own students because they know how hard they push their students and don't like others to do the same to their students... I'm a filipino, and my teacher on primary school back mid 2000s is a terror, everytime you got the wrong answers, your ear will bleed by pinching it with her nails, and that's the reason why i'm good at math. But todays generation here in the Philippines, if the teacher just simply scolded a student, they'll end up badmouthed in social medias, i swear Millenial parents here are getting ridiculous.

He got Jaby and Archara good with a few of the jokes. Also is he a professional actor or comedian cause he should be. I'd love to see Steven He in a comedy movie with Kevin Hart, Ryan Reynolds and Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias as childhood friends that get into a whole lot of funny situations and refence stuff in relation to their experiences and upbrings. Depending on the age of the Asian woman saying you look fat means something very differently. If they are from China from the 20th century they likely grew up without much food and many were extremely skinny due to malnutrition, when they see someone at a healthy weight they are seen as fat because they could actually have enough to eat. So when they say you look fat they are saying you look like you have been eating well, staying healthy and are well off $ wise. It should be taken as a compliment. I have to explain it to every gf I introduce to my asian side of the family

I don't think teachers are scared of disciplining students. Maybe in Canada, but in the US, it can be very difficult. In the US, we have something called the dance of the lemons. Basically, we often send teachers to new schools instead of firing them. Even if the teachers have been convicted of crimes that could make them unfit to teach children.
