Would love to hear your thoughts on mouthguards. Not enough professional athletes and players in youth sports wear them.
@Balin_James2 жыл бұрын
I never understood why people don’t wear them. When I was in peewee football, we HAD to have mouth guards that attached to our helmets, and they couldn’t be clear because that was too hard to see. And if we weren’t wearing them on the field, we could possibly be told not to play the rest of the game. Unless you were the QB calling the play of course

Can you do a video on the Jack Eichel situation in the NHL? Team wanted neck fusion, he wanted artificial disc replacement, he got released over their disagreement, new team let him have disc replacement instead of fusion. Would appreciate your opinion! Thanks

ER’s won’t help with a tooth injury. Go to a dentist , they will have someone help immediately . ( I have implants now but have seen plenty of dentists, and a few times they went to help someone that got a tooth knocked out

@@peterf.229 you are correct!! My daughter had one knocked out by a softball on a weekend. Called our dentist and they met us at the dentist office to take care of it.

Had 5 teeth fully dislodged in a soccer game. Kicked in the face while on the ground with the ball plying keeper. Ended up pushing them back in and got 5 root canals. Couple have reabsorbed and had to get implants. Not a fun experience and the worst part is that it’s something I constantly have been dealing with for 11 years

I feel ya on this my friend...I race mx and sx and had my own handle bar hit me in the mouth when I had a big get off during a race. Once some of your teeth get smack outta your turnip hole they'll forever be problematic. I ended up getting bone grafts and a couple of implants because those teeth constantly were having issues.

depends on timing and seriousness. replanting an avulsion sounds like something that is extremely unlikely to happen in timeline for normal people with normal dentist schedules and potentially other more serious injuries. Might work for pro football players, but I doubt very many normal people could make it work. Probably you can forget about that and first step is going to ER to take care of other injuries including concussion. Then scheduling routine dentist visit to get review and if it's just a fracture, root canal and repair or possibly referral to oral surgeon for extraction and implant, then after months, back to dentist for molds and crowns

Definitely a real annoying and long process dealing with impacts to teeth. A couple years ago I was in a significant bicycle crash resulting in avulsion of #8 & fracture of #7, 9 & 10 in addition to getting knocked out, concussion and needing stitches on my face. Follow-up was getting implant for #9 learning a lot about insurance bureaucracy and nonpayment. The following year discovered internal resorption of #9 at routine dentist checkup that required extraction and another implant. Then this year I got punched in the face, knocking out both implant crowns and fracturing #10 beyond repair requiring extraction of broken remainder, retrieval of 2 broken screw pieces and third implant. Every one of these steps is a long process of waiting months for bone to heal before proceeding
