Wow.... A couple of those bears are complete units! If I caught those on my trail cams I'd completely freak out...You absolutely have my vote for the job.... Thx for the great content.

I DO hope to see you in that role! That job would be so beneficial to all the wildlife, as grizzly and other bears are keystone species. To me it seems as though a lot of people are resigned to thinking it’s better to kill or relocate something, than to try to work with it. Thank you for caring about these magnificent creatures!

Mr. Phinney, I sincerely appreciate all your efforts to mediate between land owners, businesses and grizzlies. Your proposal is the only reasonable way forward which offers balance. We have the same situation in NW Montana’s mountains, with Protected Species status for grizzlies hanging by a thread. It is my hope that you can show us the best way forward. Thank you.

Love your videos. I used to work all over Alberta and northeast bc and just loved seeing those big bruins I still remember my first grizzly a big silvertip south of grand prairie on the weyerhouser road late March 2000 then on the chinnchaga fsr right in front of camp we had a sow and her cubs grazing on dandelions for a week every evening. It never got old seeing grizzlies black bears I've seen thousands but I can recall every grizz I ever saw to this day and I have seen many. Thank you for your videos and your work.

This is definitely a problem that needs to be addressed now. I hope you get the support you need to manage this problem for the bears & landowners!🇺🇸

I hope your team of bear management comes to fruition! A few of those bears seemed massive in size. If only everyone respected them as these land owners do.

Thanks. These homeowners have an amazing spot and they embrace it all. Truly lucky.

I for one don't think any government in Canada is capable of doing anything competent at this point in time

Bear guy is an actual bear man himself. Much respect for keeping us informed. Its a shame these poor mammals cannot exist without some foaming at mouth to kill them. Its bear first then us.

Your videos need to be picked up by local news outlets; only then will governments pay attention. Thank you for all that you do for bear conservation, protection, and education, Bear Guy 🐻 🤎

Unfortunately there's still a stigma and fear out there about their presence. Having a team such as you've proposed to help alleviate bear-human conflicts and generally lessen this stigma, would be fabulous. It will take public support and pressure to get govt. to form such a team. Early in my career (1982-85), I studied grizzlies in the upper Highwood River drainage of K-Country. There was a fairly healthy population in that region at the time, but it fell greatly afterwards with hunting and habitat fragmentation. Grizzlies appear to be having a bit of a "comeback" in Alberta now since the legal grizzly hunt has ended, and you're right I think, in that populations are expanding eastwards. I hope you can get a team going!!

Thanks I really appreciate that. I spent 14 years in K-Country starting out as a volunteer and eventually becoming one of the bear aversion specialists. Even there with the bear program in place, it fought to properly be funded, lacked bodies and proper management, and was taking no proactive approaches to improving or evolving the program. What I want to get off the ground will be a uphill battle, there has to be that one right person listening or it gets filed to the pile of "to do's".

I don’t think majority of people realize that these are the most ferocious animals on planet earth. They are literally the Tyrannosaurus rex of today. A grizzly bear is by far the most intimidating animal in the planet. I would never go into bear country not even with eight navy seals, and an Uzi. Imagine getting attacked by that monster
@TheBearGuyCanada Жыл бұрын
Hate to say it you paint a picture thats not entirely accurate. People like to think these bears are attacking and killing people non stop and its just not true. There is usually very precise factors to contribute to any bear attack and even with those factors alligning, most bears will still retreat after a bluff charge. Bears are true to nature and if you know about their behavioral traits and stay bear aware, and carry bear spray you can pretty much go anywhere without concern and without issues. Granted working with bears is what I do, and anytime I had minor issues was because i broke the unwritten rules, but grizzly bears are not programmed to kill humans. You should replace a little bit of your fear with respect, and realize they aren't as nasty as they are built up to be.

Replace grizzly bear with saltwater crocodile and your first sentence starts to make more sense. Those lizards would eat anything, they don't care at all.

Then maybe there should be better laws passed for yr wildlife, before there is none! I mean come on I watch lots of Wyoming,Montana, Canada, Alaska U tubers and u guys got beauty for days and the life that thrives is important to the Ecosystem. Just the Bee.
