wow.. the power and fearlessness of little guys. the water is deep and fast enough that even the mother has to put some effort. and it's not even over when they reach the other side - they still have to JUMP those huge slippery rocks.

It's like anything else.... You lose something, you get something, you say, "That makes up for it!" No. It doesn't. When you lose something and never get it back, it's gone. And nothing makes up for it. In this instance, there should have been 5 young bears out there, not three. Nothing beautiful about it.
@TheBearGuyCanadaКүн бұрын
In nature, there are things that happen that are truly ugly and horrible, especially when you view and humanize it. Infantacy happens with bears, cats, wolves, etc.......nature is not a hallmark card yet most people want to only accept what suits their perspective, when in reality it is a harsh world where survival and instinct are the driving forces. These events are not malicious as most people see it, it simply is the way of nature. I can watch a video of a predator taking down prey and cringe, but from the perspective of nature, it is the way. I won't lie, the day we gathered this cub from off the road, I held back a tear. But it was also the moment where I realized I wanted to understand and accept everything about these amazing animals and it fueled my passion and drive that led me into bear management.

She looks pretty big to me brother. Are you sure she's not even 200 Pounds? I wouldn't be surprised if she is already a 300 pounds bear actually.
@TheBearGuyCanada18 күн бұрын
In the video, it was 12 days after we captured her and she weighed 187 pounds at the time. So if she was more than 200, it wouldn't be by much.
@asterio840518 күн бұрын
@@TheBearGuyCanada Well, if you captured it, there's no more to say. 200 pounds and she looks that big already. I just imagine when they get to be 350 pounds or heavier. The way she pulls that dead deer is scary. Powerful creatures. Thanks for responding man. Big fan of channels like yours. Keep it up.

I wonder if his range overlaps the range of the Boss or Splitlip over in Banff/Yoho? He's a big boy.
@TheBearGuyCanada20 күн бұрын
I would say no. He wanders into the Kananaskis region from the Burstall Pass area, and spends a majority of his season across the border in BC in remote valleys between PLPP border and Invermere. Those two big boys don't dip that low, and I believe the closest Splitlip came was to the SW side of Mount Nestor. With the grain and tracks up there, they aren't coming east or too far south. Years ago we had a male known in K-Country parks that made it to the Banff golf course, but his stay was short lived and returned east to the foothills.
