Robert really loved Elvis and Elvis was happy to talk music with this group who were as serious about the roots of it all as he was. A great story. Elvis was definitely the GOAT and inspired so many great entertainers.❤❤❤

Watching this made me realize (yet again) how lucky I am to have seen BOTH of these legends in concert. I saw Elvis twice & Led Zeppelin three times. Plus I saw Robert another 6 times throughout his solo career in the 80's & 90's. In 1973 I was 18 & Zeppelin was my favorite band. But I had grown up hearing Elvis's music & went with family to see him. Was so glad I did. Went again in '74, the same year Zep got to meet Elvis. And I saw Zeppelin in 1970, '75 & '77. Both of these men had the most unique & amazing voices. And Elvis was the most beautiful human being I've ever seen, even more gorgeous in person than any photo or movie could convey. Robert was beautiful too, in a very different way..like one of Tolkien's beautiful Elves (I'm not joking). Photos don't do him justice either in his prime. And both men were incredible performers... and sexy as all get out. I love you gentlemen reacting to these artists (or anything concerning them). Brings back wonderful memories for a lot of us. Elvis was never happier than when he was talking music with musicians, & he was always gracious & humble. I’m glad they got to meet him before he got too sick, & wonderful to hear them talk about this meeting with Elvis, & speaking so fondly of that memory. Enjoyed listening to this.

Country artist Dwight Yoakam said it the best; «in my mind, there is not one artist after 1950, that not at one stage in his life, has looked in the mirror, and go, «Yeah, I’m Elvis». He turned the music business on it’s head, a true revolutionary, paving the way, not only for black musicians, but for the entire youth culture, as we know it today. I have just viewed this video as well as read the standing 36 comments. Some of the comments I perceive as harsh given the fact that you are just getting to know and understand Elvis Presley. To all I remind that it is the journey that we Elvis fans must remember to appreciate. I hope that he grows on you as he has me. He has a way of attaching himself. Great reaction to a very interesting video concerning 2 of the greatest entertainers in musical history, The comment that intrigued me the most was when Robert heard the box set Elvis in the 1960's he realised there were many great tracks recorded during those years while nowadays many folk prefer Elvis in the 1970's box set over the other 2.

BROS, There are many a story about ELVIS' home, Graceland in Memphis ELVIS had horses and he loved a ride around his estate. Sometimes it would be in public view, and subsequent car crashes would happen! His insane popularity wouldn't allow him to attend Church, like most people, because he'd say "Jesus is the King. I'm just a man." BTW, The opening music was "Also Zach Zarathustra, 2001, A Space Odyssey", which opened his concerts. And his orchestra was absolutely brilliant! THANK YOU! From Minnesota's biggest ELVIS fan!

Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a 2 room shack of a house his dad built with money he borrowed from his boss. That's how dirt poor they were. He was one half of identical twins; the other boy - Jesse Garon - was stillborn. They were so poor, that Jesse Garon was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave. At Graceland they have a plaque with his name on it in his memory. Elvis always got along with the black community and learned a lot about music from his friends of color. Also, according to the one drop rule, Elvis would not be considered white, since he has Cherokee ancestors on both the Smith (his mother) and the Presley (his father) sides of the family. His paternal grandfather, Jesse Dunning Presley, was not happy that his two sons, Elvis' father Vernon and his brother Vester, married two sisters, Gladys and Clettes who were known to have Cherokee blood in their family tree. J.D. Presley was quite the racist a-hole, often drunk and a philandering husband to Minnie Mae (they were actually separated long before they finally divorced in 1954) who was always competing with his sons Vester and Vernon and who was known to abuse his kids when drunk. J.D. was was publicly against race mixing and was in denial about the Cherokee blood in his own family tree. It was more publicly known that the Smith family had Native blood in their family tree, so when both his sons fell for 2 Smith sisters and Vernon, on top of that, was still a minor at 17 when he eloped with Gladys who was 4 years older than him, Jesse was totally pissed off. As a child, Elvis already had many friends in the black community at the time his family was one of 4 "white" families that lived in the predominantly black neighborhood The Hill, just across from Shake Rag. His childhood friend Sam Bell said that some of the (black) kids in that neighborhood had lighter skin than Elvis (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqOpdKyEgtuNjc0). One of Elvis' bodyguards once said that he thought it was a miracle Elvis got into Humes High School in Memphis, because it was "lily white". Elvis wanted to be more open about his Native ancestry, but his manager "colonel" Tom Parker (real name Andreas van Kuijk) was against it because he was afraid it might cost Elvis fans (and himself money). They did have Elvis play characters in his movies though where he had Native American blood (Flaming Star, G.I. Blues, Stay Away Joe). Once Elvis had his own (apprentice) job learning to be an electrician, he saved up his money and bought his clothes in the same style that many of his friends of color wore. He was called a (forgive me, just stating facts here) "n-lover" and got beaten up several times too. Later, when he was an established star, he would not perform at places where the members of color of his back-up band/orchestra weren't allowed.

Very few white, but most colored reactors are asked to watch the short documentary "Elvis and the black community- that ecco will never die", part 1&2, because of the rumors that Elvis "stole" black music and was a racist. Also another version of it called "Remembering Elvis" is very good. It's the one with Sammy Davis Jr's face on front of it. They are about 10-15 minutes long, and I recommend both of them.

Well I was confused for a split second. Didn't they just post this? Lol😅 This was very cool but the 1st one wasn't the wrong one. Just different aspects. It just goes to show that artists may be passionate about doing certain genres of music but can love all different genres at the same time. Imagine how they must have felt when less than three years later he was gone.

Here, in your reaction to what Robert Plant had to say, you seem to display the same unnecessarily understated reaction. This IS Elvis: The King👑. It is not that you are just being 'neutral'. 2) I do not mean to sound impolite, but you both appear somewhat ignorant of some commonly known facts about Elvis Presley. Example: Elvis went to a "better land" on August 16, 1977 at the age of 42. The 2023 candlelight vigil in Memphis (held at the culmination of 'Elvis Presley Week' every year on August 16) was attended by more than 10,000 people. Elvis Presley's birthday receives a holiday proclamation every January 8th. You at least, should be able to extrapolate that Elvis was born in 1935, NOT tell people to "google it"! Consider that to this day 12/15/2023, the single name "Elvis" is still better known than any two names in the world. Taken as a whole, these things suggest that you are playing people when you talk this @$%$##, or you are so interested in making money that you are afraid to give a fairer rating & review. If that is not the case, then you must be two of the most ignorant fellows that dare to have a reaction channel. Either way, having a 'stiff British upper lip' is no excuse for failing to go all the way & rate the Elvis '68 Comeback Special an obvious 10 gentlemen, NOT 9.3! 3) If you will take the time to refer to Wikipedia, you will discover that Elvis Presley is the biggest selling solo artist in history, ever, of ALL time. The Beatles are listed as the only thing, artist or group with a bigger counted total. However, that is largely attributed to the fact that the Beatles counted total record sales was done AFTER the Elvis count. The Greatest Entertainer That Ever Lived IS Elvis Presley.
