The Bible says Elijah was caught up to heaven in a chariot (whirlwind; 2Kgs 2:11), and Enoch was translated (raptured; Gen 5:24) but neither one of them died physically, so that's in the hands of the Lord. I don't know. I do believe Elijah and Enoch to be the 2 witnesses who come back during the tribulation and are killed and drug through the streets. Hey brother… though it is not a salvation issue… but… revelation speaks of the first resurrection happening at Jesus’ 2nd coming… & the second resurrection being after the thousand year reign… & those get tossed in the lake of fire though… Revelation 20:5-6 KJV But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. [6] Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Also; Revelation 15:8 KJV And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled. * Also; where does the Bible say that everyone (in Jesus of course) goes to heaven after they die? Where does it say that the said specific “paradise” was moved to “heaven”..?

Jesus did not go to paradise that day because on Sunday He told Mary, "I am not yet ascended to my father" So in fact the comma in the text should have been placed after Today not before it. Making it, verily I say into you today, you will be with me in paradise" remember that in the original Greek there was no punctuation and the comma was added by the transistors.

The phrase "verily I say unto thee" is a prefix phrase emphasizing the very next thing that was said as the truth. Jesus was not saying verily I say unto thee today. He was really literally saying exactly as the KJV said, I saw unto thee, (now here's the truth) TODAY you will be with me in Paradise. Notice some other phrases' Jesus also used as examples: Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know... Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow... Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young... Where Jesus said "today..." that is part of the truth statement. Also, either way does not change the fact that Jesus descended into the lower parts of the Earth for 3 days and 3 nights and preached to those in prison while there. It also does NOT change the fact that the righteous dead were kept in Hades in the place called Paradise or Abraham's bosom as born out by many scriptures.

But on the day of the crucifixion, the day of apparent defeat and darkness, the promise was given. “Today” while dying upon the cross as a malefactor, Christ assures the poor sinner, Thou shalt be with Me in Paradise. 2. Mat 16:27 says no one receives their reward until the second coming of Jesus. 3. Notice in the following that it was by the SPIRIT that resurrected Jesus through whom He preached to the people in Noah's day. The people that were being preached to in Noah's day were living they were not dead. The Bible calls then spirits because we are spiritual beings meaning we have intelligence. This is what separates is from the animals. Animals are souls but they are not spirits. 2 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 👈 19 By which 👈(meaning the Spirit) also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
