I've been CeMAP qualified since late 2017 and still struggling to find a company that will help me achieve my CAS 😔

As someone who started CeMAP 1 a few weeks ago I'm a little concerned about how difficult it's going to be to get into the world of mortgages now after watching this.

CeMAP is the easiest part Travis, getting your foot in the door requires more research, enquiring and perseverance. There's a lot of business out there at the moment, brokers are super busy and frazzled. Keep researching and prospecting. Get your LinkedIn profile looking professional and inviting, start networking on the platform - that's where your potential employers or networks will be, not on Insta, Facebook. Explore the networks, who is your area is hiring and expanding. Look into mortgage apprenticeships - google them, explore who has them. Expand your search - advising on video now allows first to take on advisers well beyond their existing geography which is very exciting. I have a 7 series video on becoming a mortgage adviser. Don't fall into the trap that just because you have your CeMAP, you'll get inundated with offers, you have to work very hard on that part. I tell it how it really is.

It has been very hard to get a job as a mortgage advisor - trainee

The market may change Ramesh, there is a constant and growing demand from brokers to increase their teams as the amount of business they are dealing with is extreme

A total novice here (also an immigrant who does not own home, thereby not familiar with UK systems): presumably the banks lend money but mortgage advisers are not part of the bank. In such case, how do advisers get commission? Do the advisers (firms of the advisers) need to approved by lenders? Sorry for dumb questions.
@PaulArcher3 жыл бұрын
Not dumb at all. You need to get on our database and watch the 8 series of videos on the mortgage sector - head here www.archertraining.co.uk In answer to your question, they receive a proc fee from the lender who has to approve you first
