Elizabeth Montgomery was a classic beauty. I'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter if your final remains are interred in a grave or a niche, or scattered at sea. If you made a positive impact during your life, you will be remembered, as she is.

With television in its infancy, Asher introduced the sitcom “Our Miss Brooks,” which was adapted from a radio show that starred Eve Arden. He began directing “I Love Lucy” by 1952. As a result of his early success, Asher was considered an "early wunderkind of TV-land," and was hyperbolically credited in one magazine article with "inventing" the sitcom. In 1964, he began to direct episodes of “Bewitched,”which starred his wife Elizabeth Montgomery. He produced the series from the fourth season. Asher was nominated for an Emmy Award four times, winning once for directing “Bewitched” in 1966. He was also nominated for the DGA Award in 1951 for “I Love Lucy.” Asher also directed episodes of “The Colgate Comedy Hour,” “Make Room for Daddy,” “The Twilight Zone (1959 TV series),” “The Patty Duke Show,” “Gidget,” “The Dukes of Hazzard,” and “Alice.” He was married 4 times: Danny Sue Nolan (1951-1961), Elizabeth Montgomery (1963-1973), Joyce Bulifant (1976-1993), & Meredith Coffin (1998- his death in 2012). He had 6 children over the course of his marriages.

I like the cemetery with the trees and all. Also it is very basic and that adds to it's appeal. I've mentioned before that Sinatra was probably the biggest entertainer in the middle of the 20th century yet he is buried here with a simple marker....no frills. I don't know who made that decision but it does speak to a certain amount of class

I like viewing the old TV series like Perry Mason, Gunsmoke and Paladin with Richard Boone. I find the character actors like William Hopper, William Talman, Dabs Greer, Victor Buono, Thelma Ritter and the cavalcade of others that made our favorite shows so entertaining wonderful viewing. Perhaps on onr of your next Hollywood and Los Angeles cemeteries there may be a listing if notable character actors interred that you may visit. A lot of actors chose cremation rather than having fans fawn over their graves! I remember reading of one such actor who wrote that years before they past! He said to paraphrase his quote “I came into this world unannounced and I wish to go out that way!” Thus why many chose to go out that way! Not my words! And god knows I wish I knew who said it! Maybe you might know Steve!

Whether true or false William Asher is credited with inventing the TV comedy series. He directed Our Miss Brooks, and also directed 110 of the 179 I Love Lucy shows. He does have a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars, awarded in November of 2003. He would often fly on Sinatra’s plane to Vegas to party with the Brat Pack, and fly back to Hollywood for a 5am call to the I Love Lucy set. Great work if you can find it!

The Asher/Montgomery marriage appeared to work like a well oiled clock; until it didn’t anymore. I would think that a marriage that spent entirely working together, day after day, from the day it started until it’s end, would be a difficult strain on most people. While a few couples can do it and thrive, most would likely find it too difficult on their own sense of individuality and life balance. In Montgomery’s case, I think having come from a difficult and abusive previous marriage with Gig Young left her heavily dependent on her own independence which may have made it much easier to leave unhappy life situations thereafter.

I've never had this thought or question until now.........how much does it cost in the desert, say, where you were at here, for a plot? I'm curious for some strange reason. Sure I could look it up, but I think you probably already know!
@TheGraveyardChannel2 ай бұрын
Hi KB, about five years ago, we purchased a cremation niche and one of the columbarium a few yards away from Frank Sinatra’s gravesite. I can’t remember now if they were $1000 each or $2000 each. That didn’t include the cremation itself or the opening of the niche to place the ashes. I think they said that would be an extra thousand dollars or $2000 for everything. We didn’t ask how much the ground graves were, but I’m guessing they have to be at least double or triple that. And I’m sure location matters too. I’ve been told it’s much much cheaper than gravesites in Los Angeles or Hollywood, which can be 10,000 to 30,000 or more. Bottom line, they are all very expensive lol! 😳🤪

@@TheGraveyardChannel Thank you for all of that! I'm seeing resales of grave sites here in SE VA (Hampton Roads/Coastal VA/Tidewater) in the area of $1500-$3500 to more, depending on city or country sites. My Mom is 90 now and a few years ago she purchased her plot and already had her headstone (not just a marker) placed. It got me thinking but I'm not sure where I want to be laid to rest. Better figure it out I guess? Thanks again.

So Steve, since you did this video I thought I would share. Not long after moving to LA in 1992,I ended up meeting her at a restaurant we both frequented which was very popular at the time in weho, named Marks,I also knew Mark and he is the one actually who introduced us. Very nice lady, I was a huge fan before I met her and by the way my name is Darren lol. She and dick Sargent, Darren number 2, were the grand Marshall in the weho gay pride parade in 1992, you can find it here on youtube. I was at her memorial service and her estate sale at her home after she died, I almost most her 1977 Bentley which was for sale song with her clothes, jewelry, did buy something from that. Hope you liked my rambling story, she is the best out of the number of celebrities I've met, btw if you want to see the car just google, her name, Bentley, note the personalized license plate, I saw her driving it sometime but when I saw her at Mark's, she was always being driven, she did like her wine and btw I meant that nicely, I never saw her be anything but nice and fun and actually being responsible in not driving herself while out to dinner
