As a non-Muslim who loves the Muslim people and the Palestinian people, how do those of you who are Muslim feel about the Muslim countries (and by Muslim Countries, I don’t mean majority Muslim, but the countries that follow and enforce Islamic Law) that have just sat on the sidelines and have done absolutely nothing about this second holocaust, and how do you compare that to the secular, non-Muslim countries like South Africa that have done more than all of the Islamic governments combined? My reason for the question is that I have heard Muslims criticize secularism (which is the idea that religion and the state should remain separate) when I see governments and states that operate according to Islamic law fail to uphold basic human decency and betray their fellow Muslims. My point has always been about how mixing religion and government corrupts both, and how they should remain separate. Muslims can still fully obey the Quran in a secular state because Muslims as a community can follow these theological rules without any outside force forcing it upon everyone regardless of their right to choose.
