This video is unbelievably helpful! I'm going to show my Mum seeing as she does all my cooking for me (I'm lucky she's a trained chef!). We've definitely noticed garlic in spice blends which I never thought about before. I also have noticed that a lot of dried fruit is sweetened with fruit juice which is frustrating! Thank you so much for all your help :) xx

Oh man, I should have mentioned that! Anything "no sugar added" seems to be with fruit juice, artificial sweeteners or dates 😩 (Hi Laura's Mum 👋)

Camomile tea?? I drink this to help me sleep! Never entered my head to question it. Toothpaste?? I'm speechless. Thank you so much. Such a helpful video ❤

Thank you for this! I actually just bought some Teechino to avoid the irritating acids and caffeine in coffee. I wasn't feeling great after having it but never thought that chicory and inulin would do that. Very gtk :)

I am so sick of restricting my diet. Why do I bother eating anything? Let's just go breatharian.

I had no idea about Fennel tea! Thanks for all the information. Ive just started with my diet (pre-elimination)
@CarrieGill_TheWildGutProject6 жыл бұрын
It's such a surprising one because it's in so many "detox" teas! If you want some more support for the elimination phase, I just launched a membership site yesterday to help vegans with the lo-fo diet ☺️ xx www.thewildgutproject.com/yours

I'm so glad I've found your channel! This is so helpful and informative!!! 😍 I am literally binge watching all your videos... 😳😍🥰 I've been vegan for few years now, but I'm still struggling with eating certain foods and I've only just found out about fructose intolerance and FODMAPs... so many things make sense now... Keep it going, your channel is great! I've already subscribed, checked your website, and ordered some recommended products! I hope this finally improves my gut health 🥳🥳🥳

This was a very helpful video. Thank you. Hadn't thought about my supplements. Just looked and my B12 and my omega-3 capsules both have sorbitol. May explain a few things.

thanks for this lovely info. As I am from Indian origin I buy authentically made spices every trip I make back home and not buy bottled ones from here in Australia. I avoid infusion tea, just have normal black tea with lactose free milk. I have small request Carrie can you please do a video on workout supplements? Something along the lines of Whey protein, creatine, iso-luccine etc.
@CarrieGill_TheWildGutProject5 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea for a video! For now I'd say that rice and pea protein have both been found to be low fodmap. With other amino acid based supplements the main issue will be the added sugars as they could be polyols. And a low fodmap serving of peanuts would provide all the BCAAs you get from a workout drink with the benefit of more fibre and minerals x

I just discovered yesterday that the Vitamin D I have been taking lists Xylitol as the first ingredient. How frustrating! It was the only one I could find that didn't contain gelatin. Any suggestions?

So frustrating! If you’re in the UK I just got the “Vegan” multivitamin from Holland and Barrett’s and that have me D2 in it. Quite cheap too 😌

My probiotic has corn maltodextrin as one of the top ingredients What I’ve read online goes between whether it is ok or not for low FODMAP so I’ve been avoiding all maltodextrin for now. Almost all of my store bought meal replacement shakes also had it. Never thought I’d have problems with those!
@CarrieGill_TheWildGutProject6 жыл бұрын
Ah it's a tricky one! This article is fairly recent and written by a RD and says it could be okay on the low FODMAP diet but it depends on the manufacturer... so best to avoid it 😣 www.dietvsdisease.org/what-is-maltodextrin-and-is-it-dangerous/

Soooooooo sneaky 🙈 Thanks for the reminder Carrie. I'm really missing my Chamomile tea before bed, have you come across any nice tea alternatives?

Hi Michelle :) I'm currently having lavender-verbena tea at night and it works beautifully for me. It's also calming-soothing and helps me fall asleep (sometimes even on the couch :/ ). Good luck! Alice

Will a small amount of curry powder be okay say 1 tbsp? I tolerate fructose fine just want to cut down to optimise my nutrition. How about green chillies like jalapenos?
@tgh76956 жыл бұрын
A question, if i missed up in the low fodmap stage, should i restart again? Thanks 🙏

Even if no symptoms occurred?

Quick answer = no! Just get back on the low fodmap wagon until you're ready to start the challenges x

Really? Monash Uni says 1/2 a cup is considered low FODMAP, which is thankfully enough for a cup of tea 😅
@schristianASMR6 жыл бұрын
Is plain corn syrup (that is not high fructose) high fodmap as well?
@CarrieGill_TheWildGutProject6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I couldn't say! Monash haven't tested it to be sure. I'd probably play it safe and avoid it until you can test it in the re-challenge phase. Especially as sweet corn is pretty high in polyols too x

Oh no, it's annoying when you realise you've been unknowingly spiking yourself with FODMAP on a regular basis 😫 Garam masala should be a handy low FODMAP alternative to curry powder xx
