Mandarin is more complicated than I thought. Although this lesson is specific for which country or city are you from, I want to know how to use the verb "from" in Mandarin in various situations. Because "from" is a ubiquitous and widely used verb that applies to many life situations. Like, where are you coming from? I am coming from the gym. I am coming from a friend's house. I am coming from the post office. So forth.

I just wanted to say what a great way to explain the pronunciation of ri in riben (japan) by using the wird asia. I myself have found the r pronunciation very hard and this helped so much. Its such a brilluant way to remember and to learn a good way to pronounce correctly. My chinese teacher even uses this herself now after i told her how i remembered it.

Please show Chinese characters for all explanations so we can know we have the correct word. i.e. nar = ?? what character is that-?? (你是哪人？ nǐ shì nǎ rén ?)-?? I think is - 那儿 nàr pro. there; then, that time. But not 100% sure-!! would be better to show Chinese characters... after all we trying to learn Chinese... not pinyin ;-) 谢谢你
