=============
China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Russia were once strong allies in the Cold War. Now, rapid transformation is happening in these countries, some of whom are still struggling to emerge from their communist past.
How will the Belt and Road Initiative impact Mongolia and integrate it into China’s masterplan for the 21st century? How will the Stan countries go from land-locked to land-linked countries? What is the nature of the new strategic partnership between Russia and China?
CNA's award-winning documentary series returns, uncovering developments on China's Belt and Road Initiative, along the China-Russia economic corridor.

I was born and raised in China and spent the last 30 years in U.S. When I visited Russia the first time, I instantly felt home and the deep-down connection. Why? Was it because I had never felt home in the U.S.? I felt more so with the recent anti-Asian violence in U.S.

I get that however I prefer Russian women over Chinese. Think about it, there is an over supply of single men in China because they preferred to have boys during the 1 child policy, consequentlyp Chinese women think they are a princess and are very demanding because they can be. Unfortunately in our media and political leadership are some very pro-NATO (although Finland is not a NATO member) and pro-EU people who demonize Russia 24/7 and would cut the existing relationships rather than develop. Russia (formerly the Soviet Union) has for decades been the most important trade partner for Finland and I think we should participate to this co-operation with Russia and China. Would make a lot of more sense than taking the USA + EU side in this global combat of hegemony and hostility.

Internal Chinese government documents obtained by The New York Times have revealed new details on the origins and execution of China’s mass detention of as many as one million Uighurs, Kazakhs and other predominantly Muslim minorities in the Xinjiang region. The 403 pages reveal how the demands of top officials, including President Xi Jinping, led to the creation of the indoctrination camps, which have long been shrouded in secrecy. The documents also show that the government acknowledged internally that the campaign had torn families apart - even as it explained it as a modest job-training effort - and that the program faced unexpected resistance from officials who feared a backlash and economic damage.

Thoroughly enjoyed this documentary, none of those biased reporting, in the normal DW, BBC, Aust ABC or other US media, the journos will somehow “insert” some elements of slandering, negativity or cynical criticism in their reporting. Kudos to Anthony for the work on neutral way telling his audiences the factual data and what they are, rather than insinuating and making assumptions. It is how a documentary should be and letting their audiences have the factual facts and ideas to make their own decisions on how they see the BRI. There are too many rubbishy journalisms these days, especially those on HK rioters and situations in HK.

There are many reasons why the relationship between Russia and China has grown closer, but one that often gets overlooked is pretty simple: there's really nothing that the two sides have to argue about anymore. In the past, issues constantly came up that caused them to stare each other down: Russia forced China to give up Outer Manchuria and acknowledge Mongolia's independence, China was dissatisfied over the Soviets post-Stalin straying too far from communist ideology and accused them of breaking too many promises, etc. But that's all in the past now. What remains as a source of tension between them? - The border? That was settled, and a formal equal treaty has been signed designating the official lines. - The ideology? The days of stubbornly sticking to one ideology and refusing to find practical solutions are long gone. - The economy? Both countries have made reforms and opened up to the global market while finding mutually beneficial cooperation with each other. We can go on, but we'd be hard-pressed to find anything that Russia and China still find worthy of arguing over.
