If China is such a big "security threat" to America, then why was America SO Stupid as to get into bed with China economically ? Right now, China has a dominant economic power over America, not only because America depends so much on imports from China but also because China holds so much American national debt. Vladimir Lenin, the first leader of the USSR said: "The Capitalists will sell us the rope that we will use to hang them." This didn't come true for the USSR but it certainly explains how China got the upper hand over America. Only Greedy Capitalists would be STUPID Enough to do business with their "enemies". ... jkulik919@gmail.com

It’s not China, or just China, that labels U.S. as protectionist and isolationist, who always sanctions other countries to keep them from progressing. Many Americans and U.S. allies and partners, from Europe to Asia share this view, i believe most are just silent about it so to not offend the big baddie U.S.A. Hence i am not surprised Russia decided to work with China.

They are no stronger than our International/ NATO alliance. There are plenty of reasons not to support (or take the side of) America or the West. But in the end, there are more crucial/critical reasons to support the West, rather than China or Russia. Namely we built China and Russia both (Democratic Free Market Capitalism and Representative Government). Hopefully people can educate themselves to see that, and understand the reasons why it's true.

There could be a few explanations. It could be what you said, a personal thing. It could be a change of perspective from the producers, giving the increased information they acquire about the BRI along the way. It could also be the result of Singapore's relationship with China in recent years. What I find encouraging about this series is that even in those early episodes, CNA was able to look at things from both sides.
@jjc4232
@jjc4232 5 жыл бұрын
@@allbluedream yes i agree that CNA is trying to see it from both sides. That's great. But there is also something call the RIGHT side and WRONG side. The Americans attempt to demonize the Belt and Road Initiative is a stupid move driven by envy and hate. That's the WRONG side. China BRI is doing good to the world. China builds bridges and railway. That's the RIGHT thing to do. Unlike the Americans and the west. Their foreign policy is through bombs and tanks.
@jjc4232
@jjc4232 5 жыл бұрын
@Heather Larson Perspective depends on which side you are supporting. By no means can perspective by unbiased. Wrongs can easily be glorified and justified into RIGHTEOUSNESS through the media. And rights can be easily demonized into a wrong to distort our perspective. But facts, maths, logic, science and above all, KARMA, remains the unchanged truth. Selfishness!! Is my word to answer you. The Americans and the west have been very selfish for the past couple of centuries. They exploited other countires by sheer force and dominated the world. Democracy is a very selfish thing because it is in human nature to be selfish. The majority of human beings are very selfish and we can see that manifested through democracy in the result of Donald Trump being elected. It is time to do some sharing in this world. There are other people, billions and billions of them, living on this earth too and let's not forget about their existence. The BRI is all about developing, sharing and giving. What does logic tells you about the kind of karma China will get when the BRI is completely operational? And that's is exactly why I am so proud of it.

@terefe feyssa Nope, domination is a fundamental organizational principle that the World can never be free of. World peace will require World unification. What model would be best? Corruption can never be fully stamped out in any govt./society. If this is taken into consideration then the model that has the least corruption or stealing of representation is the best. One of the difficulties America has had with working with some countries is the human rights issues. Russia and China don't care about that. Crimea is complicated and it should take more than a regional majority vote to allow succession. Splitting chunks off of a country is a dangerous situation. The vote was not legal by Ukraine or international law. The US has given more aid in the form of food, clothes and hospitals than any other country. There maybe strings/ requirements like respect of human rights and sometimes corruption like allowing US big business in but a LOT of lives have been saved by the US as well. What about Russia and China's tactics of domination? Do you consider this self defense and therefore fair play?

One simple matter for the western general public’s to ponder on. No matter how good Russia is with China, IF there is any problem with Huawei, particularly in the issue of spying like how the US claims it, Do you think Russia being Russia, would not be worried about that? Russia for so many years being engaged in the Cold War with the US, battling in the world of espionage and what’s not, would not be paranoid with Huawei if that’s the case, being a spying source? But yet, the Russian embraced what Huawei is offering with open arms. That alone, and goes to show, Huawei is just a victim, a collateral damage on the on-going trade war, on America’s inability to play on a level playing field going against China’s tech.

Nah,..we European's don't like the USA very much. So, the US will probably make an English speaking block,...which they effectively already have, it's called "the 5 eyes". In it are; The USA. Canada. The UK. Australia. New Zealand. It's allies are; South Africa. India. But don't expect the EU to jump in,...we are our own block, definitely separate of theirs, with a totally different world view and agenda from the others. We look more to Germany and France, but help regulate the EU aswell, in all aspects.

@@MrVitconst Nobody in mainland Europe likes the English period xD.⬅no joke The Scottish and Irish are oke, but the English and Welsh are quite anti social in their behaviour, just not really well mannered or trust worthy people, but they pretend to be if they meet Asians or American's, etc, it's just we in Europe know they are not, so they don't even try to fool us, they know we know, so there's no point in even trying with us. Europe is complicated m8,...over 6 thousand years of shared history, that's plenty time to get to know one another really well. Continental Europe isn't to be lumped into the group of the English speaking world (USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ),...because, although we can speak the language, we are thankfully nothing alike and have our own ancient languages and distinct cultures. Just like Japanese, Ainu⬅(original Japanese), Korean's, Vietnamese, Cambodian's, Laotian's, Burmese/"Myanmar", Thai, Indonesian's, Malaysian's, Singaporean's, Timorese, Molukken, and Philippino's are different to Chinese and one another. Some are closely tied like the Japanese, Ainu and Koreans, but not necessarily on friendly terms, including today. The Indonesian's, Malaysian's, Singaporean, Timorese, Molukken, Philippino's and Thai people are again, not always on friendly terms either in the past, but closely linked. The Thai⬅(a real bridge culture) Vietnamese, Cambodian, Burmese, and Laotian are also closely tied, they like the others do have their problems. And the Chinese are related to all of them, and every other Sino-Tibetan culture even far into Russia, but definitely all very distinct and different from one another with different world views and agenda's. It's exactly the same for Europe, nothing new under the sun.

Note that the Bolsheviks didn't overthrow the Czar, who had already been deposed earlier in 1917; the Bolsheviks overthrew the Duma government which superseded Czarist government. Similarly, the commanding officer of the battleship Aurora was not a Czarist loyalist but an officer loyal to the Duma government. Czar was out of the political picture after February 1917.

CNA's Anthony Morse, accessed some very central decision-makers in the institutions and social organization to interview. A well done documentary of the kind rarely seen or produced in western media, the day to day people who carry out the decisions made by governments, makes one appreciate civil society and all that it contains. The factories, universities, cities and commercial centers, transportation and communications, energy and agriculture, appearing organized, clean, and the real effect policies have in our lives through our institutions, I wonder what the F is going on with the decision-makers in Washington, and a political party that has kept national income too low to cover the social costs of survival for half its population?
