Ocean water has to be the reason why many bodies weren't recovered. Minerals broke down flesh, muscle and soft tissues of organs. Bones usually take longer to break down from the minerals in water. Plus its been quite a while since the Titanic wreck was found - so all that time would explain why only the clothes of those were lost are only found in the surrounding areas. Still sad many lives were lost that night.

But …in nature. Crabs migrate together in the hundreds or thousands… I wonder if this phenomena you speak of is simply because they are in the tank. It’s it confined space itself or I guess the present of confinement makes them cannibals

The Titan submersible used unconventional materials, such as a carbon-fiber hull. Experts in deep-sea engineering criticized this choice, arguing that carbon fiber might not withstand the extreme pressures of the depths near the Titanic wreck (approximately 3,800 meters). Rush reportedly dismissed concerns from industry experts, saying innovation required "breaking rules."

Excellent video but actually the material the Titanic was built out of was perfectly acceptable for the time. It's just that metalurgy has come a long way since then and we know more than they did now about steel quality and how to make it less brittle. That being said, they were sailing too far north for the time of year. Cold weather affects metal no matter what, so that threw gas on the fire as it was.

Just to think that over 110 passengers could have been saved if they would have got on the the first three life boats that were deployed from the Titanic into the ocean, as those life boats had a capacity of 60 people, and it was only 20 per life boat, for the first three life boats. Also, adding 40 more life boats could have saved an extra 200+ passengers. The crew on the Titanic should have stress the importance of survival drills.

As I blame for the sinking of the titanic I blame the ships crew the captain didn't prepaire for anything leading to the deaths of thousands the telegraph operator didn't warn of ice bergs and the people helping people in as they didn't let anyone who wasn't a women or child in and left empty sears when they could have let the men on, and the crew who locked the gates to the lower class they locked the poor in leading to their deaths, ete the crew where the sole reason for thr disaster and if proper care was taken this would have never happened or be so deadly
@nailsarelife8 күн бұрын
Everything that could go wrong went wrong. The crew was, definitely, unprepared and untrained. They were supposed to do an emergency evacuation drill that day, but it was cancelled in favor of Sunday Service. Captain Smith had them traveling too fast for the weather. Fleet and Lee didn't have access to the binoculars because the guy who had the key to that cabinet wasn't onboard. Lightoller is the one who misinterpreted, "Women and children in and lower away," as, "Women and children only." Phillips didn't actually get the warning about icebergs because the telegraph radio volume was all the way up to communicate with Cape Race. When Evans (from the Californian, 10 miles away) broke in, the beeps were so loud, Phillips took his headphones off his head and told Evans to shut up. Speaking of the Californian, Evans immediately went to bed after failing to send the warning (not knowing Phillips didn't get the warning), which meant no one was there to get the SOS messages from the Titanic. Also, the weather was a big issue. The water was still, and there were no clouds in the sky. So, it was already difficult to accurately see the horizon. There was also a cold-water mirage that raised the horizon. This caused a few issues. The mirage masked the icebergs. Also, it made the Titanic seem closer and smaller. So, when they sent up flares for rescue, Captain Lord assumed the ship was half the size and half the distance, and the only ship close to them that had a radio was the Titanic. Assuming the ship wasn't the Titanic meant Captain Lord didn't even attempt to wake Evans to try to communicate. Then, when the Titanic went to their morse lamps, the mirage distorted the message, making it unclear. Captain Lord then assumed the lights he saw were actually from oil lamps. One last thing I almost forgot. The third class passengers weren't locked in on purpose to keep them from being rescued. They were locked in to separate the classes and then were forgotten in the chaos. Not much better, but still, it wasn't totally out of malicious intent. So, while the crew were ineffective, I don't blame most of them. I blame the people who hired them and then didn't properly train them. White Star and Ismay, primarily. Captain Smith should also shoulder some blame. Oh, and the delay in mounting an emergency evacuation while they decided whether or not the ship was damaged to the point of sinking was on Smith, Ismay and Andrews. I can't even blame Captain Lord because he was going by what he saw. It would have been unsafe to try to mount a rescue, and since he wasn't sure there was any danger, he didn't want to risk his crew for nothing. Like I said at the beginning, everything just went wrong.

About the possible bodies inside the Titanic it is likely as when they searched the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck they found the bodies preserved due to the climate at the depth and location but due to the speed the Titanic had on impact likely compromised the hull allowing small organism to get in.
