Jizak Allahu khayran for the video. Assalam Alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh dear brothers and sisters in Islam. Another thing to mention, is that among other "Salafis" there's a bit of a confusion (ie. Misconceptions) about Sufism and Zuhd-Tazkiyah. As we know in Salafiyyah movement all innovations is been rejected and NOT tolerated, Therefore Sufism was rejected and rightly so Sufism has innovations in it and some beliefs its carries are kufr and shirk, However the confusion part comes here, Sufism initially began as Zuhd and tazkiya, which is something highly emphasised in Islam and part of our religion as well, most of our (Traditional Sunni) classical Mashaykh and Scholars did practically Zuhd and Tazkiyatun Nafs and wrote books on it, and the Traditionally of studying Islamic knowledge as Sunnis, we start with Aqeedah Fiqh and lastly Zuhd-Tazkiyah, in Fiqh of course we study under the qualified mashaykh/student of knowledge/Scholars who fall under the 4 legal schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) with this we learned Islam in the proper and easy way. Of course all the 4 imams in usool Ad-Deen were Atharis and its important to follow them in Truth and in the balanced way (No cheery Picking, no ta'asub and we don't forsaken their works). But this is little bit different to some of "the salafis" some of them have forsaken the 4 legal schools of jurisprudence because they think automatically you are a muqaleed for benefiting from them and the Salaf didn't do that, but in the end they themselves happened to blind follow Sheikh Nasruldeen Al-Albani, Ibn Baz and Sheikh Salih Uthaymeen (May Allah have mercy on them all), this also messed up their Zuhd-Tazkiyah as well, because they happens to rejects anything that resembles Sufism, as a result they have forgotten and abandoned this proper Sunni Tradition of learning Islam, Aqeedah (Athari Creed), Fiqh (The 4 legal schools of jurisprudence), Spiritualism (Zuhd-Tazkiyah). This is how things workout for every muslims and Allah knows best.

As someone who has been heavily inclined towards Salafi path (despite coming from a very sufi kind of background), this is something I have found lacking within the movement to which the name “Salafi” is applied to in modern times. This aspect is hardly talked about. It is just cold hard facts which I understand are necessary to define boundaries but then it should also be complimented by a spiritual side of things. The softening of heart. Unfortunately modern day Salafism at times shuns away such discussions although I wouldn’t like to generalise.

No it is not the same. Following the Salaf is different to the modern day Cult SPUBS and those guys follow. If you go back to the four Imaams then you are following the Salaf, so it is only a title or inscription, Ahlus sunnah is another name or inscription and so is sunni, it is a differentiation.
