Where Did The Terms Mill, Tutor & Ramp Come From?

If you play any kind of card game you've more than likely heard the terms Mill, Tutor or Ramp before, but what do they mean exactly and where'd they come from?

You keep saying "transcended card games", but i think you mean "transcended Magic the Gathering", because i don't know where these terms are used outside card games.

Now that I think of it, most or all card game terminology began with or relates to Magic. I don't know if terms like Highlander or Ping came directly from Magic (since they're more universal), but they were at least used in Magic before Hearthstone. Crazy!

I knew about mill and tutor, but not ramp, I thought it had to do with going up. Another term that I'd like to see is highlander.

So funny enough the term highlander comes from the movie Highlander and the quote "there can only be one", which people adopted to decks that couldn't contain duplicates.

​@@ahpaulohAnd this, too, relates to Magic. Not sure if Hearthstone players were inspired by Magic directly (like with Tutor, Ramp, or Mill), but before Hearthstone was EDH, a format of Hearthstone where your deck is exactly 100 cards and each card is unique (no duplicates).
