After I completed the game and spawned back into Prosperity, I felt pretty down because of the destruction of New Eden and Joseph's death...I was gonna turn the game off when I heard the guy in Prosperity start playing this. Ngl, it helped cheer me up a little :)

@@kiliangaming5863 Nirvana made a rock cover of it. Originally this was a folk song iirc

@@bigjimmy884Actually it's a folk song that nobody knows the original author. Leadbelly just had the oldest known recording. There's another amazing version in the album called Dark Country 2 In The Pines

Honestly, this is the best version of the song as far as I'm concerned. At minimum its as good as Cobain's unplugged live version.

The best version is the ACTUAL version aka lead belly. Show some respect for one of the men that INVENTED the blues which helped lead to the invention of rock n roll. Learn some music history
@aaronsteele49419 ай бұрын
@@mookiestewart3776 Leadbelly didn't come up with this song though, it's an old American folk song with no known original author, but if I remember correctly some of the first versions of it are thought to have originated in the 1870s in Appalachia and other southern states. The oldest known recording of a version of this song is found on a 1925 phonograph cylinder, which Leadbelly drew from in addition to a version compiled by Cecil Sharp in 1917.

@@aaronsteele4941 still doesn’t change the overall point I was making though. Lead belly popularized it and likely transformed it into the blues version we know and love today . And blues/jazz were BLACK American inventions that then lead to rock n roll which is ALSO a black American invention . Essentially any piece of modern music you enjoy nowadays would not exist without the sheer brilliance of African American artists throughout the years, seeing as they invented everything you like about music today.
@Bubbles---7 күн бұрын
@mookiestewart3776 Lol nobody is denying African American influence on rock music however this specific song is widely believed to have originated from the Appalachians which most likely would have had a strong Scottish/Irish background, Lead belly layed out the foundation for this song but Nirvana made it what it is today, also the rock an roll we hear now days is not a "Black American" invention lol
