My bass apparently disappear into the mindless abyss - never to be seen again, until I go back to shore, and then they go wild on the treeline across from me

Went out yesterday and didn’t find them great but only had a couple of hours. Did find one good small grass patch and caught three on three straight casts. The rest of the day was a grind. Who would’ve been a better day if my trolling motor battery didn’t die and got a trailer flat on my way home.😂 however I was still out fishing, which makes the day great

It's how it goes. I have had some bomber days.. and some EXTREMELY challenging days. The hard part is when you comprehend that they are probably feeding good SOMEWHERE.. you're just not there.

Interesting, the hard jerkbait and the spinnerbait, my two go-to lure categories for the fall, are not on Tim's list.🤔 Spinnerbaits are falling out of vogue, but really, no hard jerkbaits???🤷🏼♂️
@mattfleming86Күн бұрын
Spinnerbaits have been my absolute go to on those hard days. There was one day it was the ONLY way I could get a hit.
@mountainstomarshes8966Күн бұрын
I've noticed almost no one uses spinnerbaits anymore. Blows my mind. Top 3 confidence bait for me all year

Last few mornings in middle Tennessee have been low 30s morning air temps, clear blue skies and high pressure and N/NE winds. I found a nice school of bass pinning baitfish in a creek bend in front of a set of downed trees...all feeding up on shad. It was cold and no one was out fishing, I landed 6 of 8 bites all on 5/8 oz Spro Aruku Shad lipless in chrome colors. Smallest was roughly 14" and about 1.25 pounds and buggest went about 20" and 4.25 on my Boga. I went the next meoning and only managed two, both in that 12"-14" range and both fat and full of shad. The difference is that there was no wind blowing into that bend in the creek. I switched to a silent Nishine Simcoe lipless. These bass were also nit reacting to a variety of topwaters, swimjigs, or cranks, but the lipless git them riled up. FWIW, I was fishing from shore.

I know you hear all the time "bass move shallow in the fall", but do you reckon that some of the bass that chose to stay shallow for the summer may actually move offshore to feed and to be closer to their winter haunts? Or am I overthinking this...
