I do NOT understand why this pastor DENIES the existence of the spirit of man or woman! Doesn't he know that the Man or the Woman is made up of the BODY, the SOUL and the SPIRIT?? It is the spirit that communicates with the SPIRIT of YAHWEH. The SOUL is the mind, the intellect, the feelings, the emotions, etc. But it is through the spirit of man that YAHWEH communicates with the ELECT of YAHWEH through the "medium" of His Spirit, ie the HOLY SPIRIT. Or, are the soul and the spirit interchangeable as what this pastor implies??? Another view: While the two words are often used interchangeably, the primary distinction between soul and spirit in man is that the soul is the animate life, or the seat of the senses, desires, affections, and appetites. The spirit is that part of us that connects, or refuses to connect, to God.
