Little observation: Peyton had 4 SB appearances. Also, I wanted to say, I feel like Peyton Manning might be one of the most unique quarterbacks that i've ever seen. And what I mean by that is we've seen quarterbacks similar to Elway and Favre in Josh Allen, Stafford etc. The closest I've seen someone changing the line of scrimmage before the snap the way Manning did would be Tom Brady and it's not even close, even Peyton's throwing motion is pretty iconic. It was such a treat to watch Peyton commanding those elite offenses.

Marino played behind a great offensive line. He had a stretch of 19 straight games without being sacked which is amazing for a quarterback who didn't really scramble. Marino was the victim of having played for a team with consistently bad defenses. Marino was the best pure passer but he threw more interceptions than most people realize

Now being from Sweden I have only seen NFL for two seasons. But for 27 years I have seen Super Bowl and only SB since that was all I could see on TV. But last two seasons NFL Game Pass changed all for me. So have not seen enough to have an opinion of course. But for me the question would be how would for example Marino and Elway do under Andy Reid in todays Cheifs? With such great coach and team why would they not win? If they are not as good? All QBs play for such different teams, coaches etc it must be very hard to compare? It's not like in soccer where anyone with eyes know Maradona is the GOAT :)

Great QB's prove it, by playing great in big games(playoffs). . Mahomes is the BEST of all time, GOAT is an entirely different measure. Comparing the accomplishments of a guy(Mahomes) who has played 6 years, vs QB's who have played 15-20 years or more isn't really a fair measure. . The thing about Mahomes he has the best numbers(regular season) for any QB ever for the first 6 years of a career. I doubt there is too much argument there. What I point out(stats) is the difference between these great QB's regular season play vs their play in the playoffs. Mahomes playoff numbers go up. Tom Brady's go down significantly. Joe Montana, like Mahomes, his regular season to playoff numbers generally go up, though, not as dramatically as Mahomes. . Elite NFL QB's generally hit their prime at 30, Mahomes(28) is yet to get there. I think one of the problems with mahomes legacy is the fact that you could make a pretty compelling argument that brady and rodgers were better than him from 2020-2021 in mahomes physical prime. i also don’t think he will match brady’s longevity but we will see. Rodgers is most gifted thrower of the football I've ever seen. Mahomes is the best QB tho I've seen. Rodgers is a terrible leader..cares more about stats and MVPs than winning ..he throws so few INT's that he holds back and won't make the big play when necessary..big reason he has lost so many playoff games as the favorite

I may be a homer but I consider Mahomes to be only 2nd to Brady in totality as of now. Talent wise he’s ahead of Brady but success wise he’s definitely not. Mahomes has a cannon, great deep ball and sneaky great clutch runner and is second to no one when it comes to improvised extending the play type of plays. I hope eventually he will surpass Brady in ring number but I know how much luck it takes to win it any given year. #3peat !!!

I agree with most of the rankings, partially on the takes, but really questioning the Brees rank. First, I think Its pretty criminal to rank Brees below Marino on any list. Secondly, for a right now list, I dont know how Brees career isnt at least a little debatable. I'd argue that Brees should be in the "Its Debatable" tier as of now. Now, I do think that by the time Patricks career is over that he very well could even clear Brees.

I think I’d have Mahomes 5th right now. Brady is obviously 1, Peyton and Montana are 2 and 3, and Unitas I’d still have at 4. But Mahomes can pass all of them outside of Brady in just a few years as he continues to rack up MVPs and Super Bowls. Peyton Manning has all of the awards and regular season statistics, Montana had the playoff and Super Bowl stats and accomplishments, Mahomes has both, which makes me think he’ll retire 2nd.

I don’t think this is weighing career stats and leaders in specific stats like TDs , yards, etc. Obv the difference between Brees and Mahomes is 13 years but that contribution to the game at an elite level , leads to a difference of 51,934 yards and 352 TDs in Bree’s’ favor. At his current pace, Mahomes has to play for another 10 years to surpass those stats. I def think he will do it as long as he plays that time (of course he doesn’t have to because of his rings) . But I don’t think it’s fair to have Mahomes so far ahead when the stats are heavily favored on Bree’s side of the scale . Idk how much it SHOULD be weighted. But it DOES MATTER. Most people would have Brees over Bradshaw despite the 4 v 1 SB difference . Obv that’s because as a player Brees is better than Bradshaw, and subsequently Mahomes is better than Brees. But it’s also because of Brees longevity at an elite level that he’s able to overcome the SB difference of Bradshaw . If he was better, but for only half as long, the argument would be very weak for Brees over Bradshaw. So I think that 10 seasons difference in career stats and accolades, should make up for SOME of the gap between Mahomes and Brees. If I had to say right now, i would put Mahomes over Brees , but it should at least be in the DEBATABLE tier, not in the “Mahomes is better tier.” Now if it’s a list of who I want to have the ball with the game on the line, that’s a different story, easily Mahomes. But this tier list is All Time Greats, and that list takes into account how long you played at an All Time Great Level. And I would say Brees has the edge in that category until Mahomes plays another 5+ years And that same argument applies to other great QBs with 15+ year careers. But Brees is the one with the highest stats other than Brady.
