Wow such beautiful places with very nasty things going on that no one wants to fix. Paris is the same way… whole new perspective on these places.

Something to remember, we didn't have forever chemicals flushing down waste ways until maybe the last 75 years or so. As disgusting as this may sound, sewage wasn't as contaminated as it was. (Let that part swirl in your head). As someone who lives on the Gulf Coast, the bays and estuaries are constantly getting warnings. The fish are high in PCBs. For Venice to be a natural city of sorts in that sense, it's still amazing it holds up. The only thing today is, those waters are probably super polluted from the chemicals.

The modern diet isn’t helping our waters either 😞 Back in the day folks ate natural food, now it’s full of chemicals, preservatives, dyes, etc. i live by lake erie and watch year after year the lake turn green from alga blooms, it’s a multi faceted problem 😞 between every other person in the city having their lawns sprayed all the time, farmers and the fertilizer, increased population, people eating poor diets, and marsh land being destroyed- developed. I’ve been keeping a eye on florida and watching the same issue coming 😏 we don’t have all the answers, but we know what the problem is.. and you guys could learn from us. The university of Toledo has been researching it for some time, we even have a historic research center on one of the islands, in the lake erie island chain. Don’t give up any more of your marsh lands! They are natural filters.. that’s you guys everglades.

@campbub It's worse than Florida. I live in between Texas and Louisiana. Unless you've driven from Lake Jackson to Pasadena to Lake Charles? We have all these chemical plants. I like fishing, but I only eat what I catch 5 miles out of shore. It's much worst here than Florida.
