I agree with you completely about business and relationships. I am an electrical contractor and have been in this business for 25 yrs, and it's time for me to add something new to my life. So I'm trying to figure out how to get into Non CDL hotshotting as small as possible. I own a truck, but to learn all the legalities to start my business. I know I'll keep customers through relationships once I get going. That's how my business operates now. Thanks for any tips you have.

Well put together thoughts my man. You earned a subscriber. As a multi-faceted entrepreneur myself I concur with EVERYTHING you said. Business is based on relationships... not just jumping on every new wave that comes along. You struck a chord with me especially about being built different and enjoying the GRIND! I went from a being a retired full time RVer and recently got into moving and installing buildings. We are talking about hauling WIDE loads and setting heavy mobile office buildings in 100 degree weather 10 hours a day. I am totally ass kicked everyday, but damned it's fulfilling. To me it's like paid boot camp and I enjoy doing things that others CANNOT do... it's just how I'm wired. Moreover everyone truly appreciates the work I do, and I enjoy the independence. Many people tried full time RVing despite my warnings about the amount of problem solving and independence it requires... and most that didn't take the advice seriously gave up 6 months into it. There is a reason not everyone does something, but there is a niche for just about everyone... you just have to be honest about yourself and your motivations.

It’s about time . I have never even looked at a load board 10 years later I have 8 guys working 5 days a week making good money. YOU sir are doing the right thing congrats I actually have a broker that handles loads I can’t or don’t want to do be safe .

It’s hard to make money when your paying $1500 a month for a truck and trailer. $200 a month in load boards, fuel, insurance, repairs, ect. But when you cut out equipment payments you can make it nice starting out.
