in the 25 years Ive been following this franchise one thing that has bothered me more than any of the other deficiencies this organization has is they;ve never had the killer instinct. I use NE as an example. We all hated NE but they were killers, didnt matter how far they were up on someone, they kept their foot on the your throat until it was done. The Colts have embraced the nice guy mentality which will win you some game and respect but honestly, have the Colts been feared? Even when Manning and crew were there, yeah we were contenders every year but we would always lose to teams like NE, Pitt, SD etc. I wish we could get a coach like Dan Campbell in Detroit, I'd kill to have that dude as our coach. His players would run through lava for that guy! Instead, we're the nice guys in the league, someone everyone wants to be friends with but wouldnt trust us to go into battle.

Zaire Franklin is average-below average in my opinion. Objectively, I’ve seen him jogging around the field and missing tackles on MULTIPLE occasions.

We all agree that the Colts have serious problems across the board, from personnel to coaching to culture. Ballard's had 8 years. He has a process that he doggedly adheres to regardless of the outcome. We'd be fools to expect anything different. We have a coach who has mishandled a young and critically inexperienced QB and lost the locker room as the team has completely digressed after only 2 years. Because Ballard has the Colts stuck in perpetual mediocrity, and Steichen has shown none of the offensive genius he processes while at the same time failing to develop our young QB, that it would be an optimum time to part ways with them and bring in a new regime. Agnew as GM from Detroit, and Vrabel as HC.

The Colts need to hire a Head Coach with proven Head Coach experience. Some people aren't cut out to be Head Coaches and some people aren't cut out to be NFL Quarterbacks. The Colts have both of those scenarios going for them. Also, some people aren't meant to be Heads of Football Operations, I almost forgot.

Ironically, the colts should be where the broncos are at now. A good team with a young qb who struggles from time to time. Bo Nix did not play well this game, but the rest of the team didnt blow it for him. This is why no one should give Ballard a pass because AR is young and struggling.

Ballard will never hire anyone who challenges him so he ends up with weak coaches. It's totally fair to criticize the Saturday hire, but once he was there he started to fix it. They should've given him a full year after he was there, but Ballard would've done anything to get him out. Colts are also a victim of this modern NFL where it's feel good consensus making and no strong personalities. Football teams only work with one man, a HC, with all the power, who is wise enough and secure enough to give coaches responsibility but hold them to the fire as well.

fucking well said. Colts got destroyed by everybody for the Saturday hire though. and I mean everybody. I didn't hate it.jeff immediately took out all the game tables from the locker room. I liked that too. when I go to work, I have too actually work! and I'm getting paid less than 100k a year. but u totally make since. why they hire Ftank and then Shane. the identical person. scheme the way they call plays, always trick plays when the games on the line. witch I HATE. Why you would ask your guys to do something completely different that they hardly ever do instead of pull out your very best play the play.The other team hasn't stopped all day and make em fucking stop it! ask AD to throw a 30 yard pass, Brenard stops blocking 15 cause he thought the play was over? guys where confused and asked to do abnormal shit. and Shane like Frank, trying to force guys to play HIS SCHEME and not scheme around the talent they have. I'm calling plays, AR is running 15 times 30 if it's called for even! but Shane and AR both run a fee times in the first quarters and never come back to it till the 4rth. I think about Lamar J as a young player, that guy was running every damn play all game long. and Anthony likes to compare his running to Lamar, but he dosnt want to run the ball as needed. but it do suck that Anthony has to do everything to win. guys can not carry him at all. it's always they young guy with 26 starts since high school has to carry. Vs Denver Anthony had to run it himself, throw it, basically play O linemen too because there was a man in his face almost every throw. Anthony is slow to read the field though, that comes with experience and coaching. all I know, if I was calling plays and time outs, colts would still be playing for the division. so many games lost because of Play calling and bad time out usage. specially earlier in the season, when they tryed to play AR like he is Luck and not AR. Anthony's mental ability has to catch up to his physical abilities. what alot of fans don't understand. they say he can't throw and yet he can make every throw there ever was and some. he has done it this year just not consistent. also I think people think alot of AR throw aways are just bad throws, here's a hint for people, if there is a defender in ARs face or has hands on AR, and the ball goes out of bounds or over a defender to a spot on the field, nobody can catch it, He threw the ball away! had about 8 or 9 of em last game. Ant needs atleast 1.2 seconds in the pocket for a good read, OR coach calls a way simplified game plan.... but like Frank Shane has to much pride and want to be known for just how smart he is, so the game plan is always high level QB shit. but we saw when AR has the 1 read options, the fake throw to the slant type shit, it looked good, and he is good at it. I could go on and on. but ur correct! lol

The answer to that question is time management. Their way of thinking today actually worked a few years ago but with time adjustments need to be made. To expect players to perform as they did a few years ago is just unrealistic. You have to know when to make changes and upgrade. Some, not all, can actually keep up with performance. That’s when you look to the draft and FA. Signing a reliable corner in FA, 1 player, could’ve made all the difference. We have to stop coming up with internal excuses “we like our guys” yeah but do you love them. AR is not experienced enough to shoulder the burden of issues.

We don't like our Ballard. If the Colts do a fire sale for first round draft picks in 2026. Then tank for 2025. That would be a challenge for Richardson's development. Unless of course by the 2026 draft the Colts decide to move on and draft a QB.

I actually feel terrible for Ryan Kelly. Depsite what people will say, and his down year this season, he was a bonefied stud for this team for a long time and Ballard essentially damned him to play his entire career in NFL purgatory, with more starting QBs than he has years in this league. Its shameful on Ballards part. If i was him, my love for the game would be non-existent at this point.

Why is everyone always blaming Ballard. If we had a decent coach, the players that Ballard put together would be playing well. Steichen has been terrible. It's not on Ballard that AR thinks you can tap out of a game. And then Steichen said it's the hardest decision he's had to make to bench him. That should have been the easiest decision in the history of coaching. DeAndre Campbell got suspended for the rest of the season. It's not on Ballard that JT can drop the ball before crossing the goal line and then immediately is back in the game. That's on the coaching.

We are probably going to lose steichen. I really like what he has to offer as far as offense goes. The problem is that he is learning how to be a head coach, and theres not enough accountability. There is issues with situational football, and #5 does no one any favors. If SS goes, we will lose to him in the future. But we really need a tough coach, not a guru. Blow it up. I think its time. 8 years of being marooned in football purgatory tells you its time. We paid a lot of money to guys who are good, but arent top players in their position. #99 is a beast, but is paid like a guy who scores touchdowns.

Very good podcast. Enjoyed listening to this simply for the fact that misery loves company and I'm a titans fan. You don't want Vrabel though. He is an egomaniac That flew way too close to the Sun. He is a fantastic head coach and leader of men when he has a somewhat capable and talented team. He took over a titans team in 2018 that was just in the playoffs and lost in the divisional round. So he took over a playoff team. He is not the kind of coach that the Colts need simply for the fact that he is not the kind of coach that I think is capable of rebuilding a roster. He ended his Titans tenure on a 6-18 streak

Oh Elijah, you are so off base. This roster isn't even close to a Super Bowl level team. We have 2 elite players on the whole roster. We are 1-7 against teams with winning records. And the stat on adjusted comp % for AR is a joke. I know this because you didn't compare him to all other QBs when you brought it up. If I had to bet Id say he is still bottom 5 if not last 9n that stat too.

In his tenure as a GM how many great players had Ballard Drafted? 2 maybe? I mean great not good players. He has a losing record as a GM. It's not the coach it's the players. The coach isn't great but he is Ok. We don't have a good QB right now either. Don't bring in Mike Vrabel just get a new GM and let's see what happens.

Break this thing down and Rebuild around AR. The coach definitely don't call plays towards his strengths. All deep routes. And these receivers definitely haven't been helping him out. I would fire sale the shit out of these players and draft straight studs and bully players. We're tired of these type of players.
