The team worries more about a celebration dance than completing plays

Ballard(and subsequently the whole coaching staff) runs the team in order not to lose. You don't win with that formula

I think there is some things that could put us there. GM, and a major change to coaching staff that focuses on winning instead of collecting paychecks and making everything a glorified preseason because it can be stated after Luck retiring this has been 1 great big preseason for the colts. There is some moves on both sides of the ball that do need fixing. TEs the complete room, RB2 behind JT, WRs need to be put through the grinder and made to do 200 catch drills per drop they have. Smith and Kelly need to be moved on from because Smith has missed so much football for the Colts and cutting him this offseason will save $16mil against a $3mil cap hit. Kelly needs to be move because Bortulini has seemingly played better at times. Franklin needs to be traded because he is so focused on running his mouth rather than playing so much and i think he might be 1 of the 1s Kenny was talking about to tell the truth. Him and Speed are so much worse than Leonard when he was still Darius and Maniac as well as Anthony Walker or Okereke. I would actually let Stuard and the rookie take up the linebacker position maybe even make a move there. I would trade Kenny and let him go to NFC contender. As for HC there is only 3 legit options for the Colts if they move on from Steichen they are Ben Johnson (who i wanted over Steichen and i think he would have been the best fit for the colts), Vrabel because he is a damn good coach, and the other that would cause a lot of backlash is Bellicheck. Vrabel and Bellicheck because there would be a lot of discipline to the team and sense of dedication to winning that i am not getting from a lot of other coaching candidates otherwise you stick with Steichen get a better OC to actually call plays let Steichen be in involved in the offense but his focus needs to be on the team and games and get a better DC that is going to preferrably be here for a long time. Teams are so focused on grooming coaches to HCs they dont look at potential for long term OC and DCs in the league and i think thats something that needs to be actually addressed.

Ballard's comments early in the season about raising players and if it gets him fired so be it, I think really plays a big part in his philosophy. He is staying true to what he believes in which is ok but I think it's a fine line between building a team as a project vs building a player as project vs building a team that wins vs finding winning players. Every pick doesnt have to be a project or have a huge upside. You need to play all angles. Vets, FA, UDFA, high picks, late picks, and trading for advantages, gamble. If you focus too heavily in 1 area you become a victim of your own philosophy.

A friend of mine is a Washington fan and he and I had these kind of conversations about 10 years ago when they were in purgatory. To quote him: "Until ownership decides to realize what a mess his franchise has become this is where we'll be, I'm just happy that it's not actually effecting my life in a negative way. I'm just gonna enjoy watching good football from every other team in the league until then."

Ballard lost me when he wasn’t aggressive enough to get the number 1 pick for Stroud. I will continue to root for AR , but every colts fan wanted Stroud and every colts fan has had to watch Houston thrive with Stroud and watch them become division winners after the Watson situation . Ballard has a “my way or highway” attitude and sadly, his way is very mediocre and not aggressive enough for Indy football. Exactly why every year has been consistently inconsistent under his management

One of the biggest assumptions is Ballard controls the purse strings. I’ve actually heard that might not be the case in terms of free agency. The Colts have been awfully thrifty since Grigson left town. This is where we have to question where that line is with ownership.

Im fine with talking about firing Ballard, but i still think it is more on Steichen. Ballard has built a talented roster. We have lots of weapons who compliment each other very well and have diverse skill sets. We have a star running back and an O line that can be great when healthy. We have a young quarterback who can do it all physically and wants to be coached up. My point is, every position on this offense either has proven guys or high ceiling young guys. this should be an offensive minded coach's dream. Right now each of those offensive positions are underperforming. that's a coaching issue. We don't have a winning culture right now. The coach sets the culture. you can argue that Ballard helped choose the coach. He helped choose Frank Rich. Obviously Ballard has a type of coach he likes, and that could be an issue for our success. But Steichen is the one with these guys every day. he schemes ways to use their skillsets. he sets the mentality of the franchise. Ballard clearly isn't blameless, but Believe Steichen is more to blame than Ballard for the mistakes these season.

If Belichick would have been available, I would have consider him on my coaching list for 2025. Yes he’s old & basic but he would bring discipline & accountability to Colts defense. There won’t be rebuilding. Just replace and reload with better quality talented players with a proven head coach. Make Vrabel the defensive coordinator/associate head coach and he be the head coach after Bill steps down.

Wonder if they are literally waiting for Arch Manning to come out 🤷♂️ Seriously think about it, is AR just filling in for Arch Manning? 🤔
@brandonlampe13233 күн бұрын
Steichen has been super underwhelming, but Ballard has to go. The roster around the coach and QB is laughable. The players that are the pillars of your offense lost you the game. JT and Pittman fumbled in back to back offensive possessions. I think you need a new gm to build around AR to give him the best chance to succeed. If he doesn't you draft a QB in 2026 with a new coaching staff.

The challenge is every team in the league goes and spends their money when they have a rookie QB on his initial deal, yet the Colts continue to be silent in FA. That has to be on Ballard, and yes we may have to overpay a bit to get them to come to Indy, but that's life
@KingJeffrey-w9q2 күн бұрын
This could be Ballard’s next panic move if Ballard statys in 2025. Trade 2 1st rounders and AR to Raiders for 2nd pick of the draft. Colts get Cam Ward and start him in 2025.

Fire Ballard and hire new GM. Steichen was probably never ready to be a HC. Now what do you do with Richardson and this team? If the Colts are doing a fresh build? Do you trade Richardson and give him a chance with a team that can better use him? Do we trade what players we have that can get us first round picks in 2026 and tank 2025? Players that used to be here and are popular but now have their head up their ass. What sort of sacrifices are the Colts willing to make to move forward?

I just want to know what the cutoff point on Richardson is? 20 games? 40 games? 10 seasons? To me, he's a total bust. Of his 26 starts since HS, he's had like 4-5 good games, and that's it. Also, if ballard is a complete bafoon who whiffs on just about all other areas of this team, what makes you think he got the AR pick right? Burn it all down is my vote!
@kingkracker19983 күн бұрын
Ballard's going no where unless this team just trashes it up last 3 games. this season was always about building up AR. not sure why every1 forgot that and started thinking we was SB contenders lol never was. we r all so mad because we were about to win that game, and then we found out nope JT dropped that TD on purpose. sure everything sucked after that, but that play really was the game. I know I can't be the only one who said out loud after JT scored this f****** game is over son!!! and then they replayed it, I watched that replay a 100 times. I thought it was too close to call play stands. ofcourse I would! but afterwards, I just knew it was over. Denvers D was playing too good. yards were too hard to c9me by for both teams, but after such a huge momentum swing ofcourse denver is going to get a drive going. they didn't though, we got a stop and punt and then Pittman fumbles on there 30. gifting them points. that shit was to much to 0ver come and expect a 22 yr old with zero pass pro to carry the team, lol.... too much. we had it in the bag, jt fumbles. that's why we r so mad. jt scores, denber can't move the fucking ball either. Bo would start pressing more than what he already was. this game would have looked so different. prolly would have been 30 colts denver 7. that's how big that fumble was.
@chadcory96903 күн бұрын
A.r sucks we had no ability to throw the ball . J.t makes a mistake hes been a force all season long yes a bad mistake. And everyone trashes him. But they don't want to talk about richardson and how bad he's been. The o line is terrible. The pass rushers are terrible and shane is garbage.
@watcherofthewest85973 күн бұрын
There is a lot going on behind the scenes...the team thinks it's a joke they are playing a QB who can't complete passes and tapped out of a game....the players know what everyone in league knows that AR is a joke...steichan and Ballard know he's a joke but their stuck with him and are increasingly fated to be judged with him....only ones who think AR is anything other than a joke is colts media

why the hell wasn't Ballard fired 5 years ago, all he does is drafty soft turkey passer outers. They won the NFL joke of the year award for drafting a the most inaccurate QB ever, and other teams laugh at the Colts because they are soft and it's an extra bye week when they play the Colts. They get pushed around very easy and show zero toughness, but hey they look great on tic toc
