Funny... I really did wonder if you had seen this demo and I see you have. I searched for classic TR on a whim one night, watched some playthroughs, and even was happy to see the disrespected skins (by new gens in the comments) of the classic Lara in Rise of the Tomb Raider YoutTube videos. Then I stumbled across this very demo and had a good night watch before a big working day. I think the problem with games these days, (with the help of all that nonsense with Gamer Gate, feminist movement, and other pointless buzz words) is that it has been pushed into a stale formula. Games have no lasting appeal anymore. Games are now designed to make as much money before the next best thing is popular. The theme for AAA is reaslistic, grounded and relatable to real life which destroys the purpose of playing games and limits ideas as a whole (mostly but not always). This is why Naughty Dog will never make another Jak or a stylized game until it's popular again, for example. I thought I moved on from games some time ago until I played some older games I never played as a teen and some new creative ones. They actually made me smile, where as I tended to zone out through many modern ones. It wasn't so much as growing up and moving on, but the lack of allowing you, the player, to actually play the game rather than watch its spectacle. That charm, that wonder, that love, passion and endearment that once existed is now very limited to a few developers these days. Man... I have several unopened PS4 games, still in it's wrapping. So I believe that a game should make you want to play it opposed to you playing for old-time's sake and nolstalgia, thinking "maybe I'll get lucky this time". After all... That's what got us into games in the first place, no? Spot on about the new TRs BTW - you're definitely not alone. I liked the first new one and completed it twice and saw the 2nd and knew, then, that that was enough for me. I'm just very glad to be with a team, creating our own worlds.

I was wondering how you felt about the new Tomb Raider games. I don't particularly like them though I've never played any of the original Tomb Raider games either. I think the new Lara, and maybe we'd disagree on the reasoning but, my questions are two: Why call it Tomb Raider when you've adjusted the game to the point that you're playing a worse uncharted instead of a platformer and shooting action game? And secondly, if New Lara is feminist I don't even think she's particularly good even with the changes they made. She's still conventionally beautiful and desirable and there are times where I just laughed at the situations she is put through and their outcomes. Like she gets straight up punched in the face at full force but those great looks are still there. The original Tomb Raider is very upfront about itself and I think there are better ways to make a character than just being lazy and thinking you are clever revising an old character poorly. Like they even give her the dual pistols at the end of one of the games so it's like they know the character has certain characteristics they need to live up to. I don't really like the new games in any way, they fail to be interesting on their own terms and aren't particularly good at being Tomb Raider as I've seen you show them. Maybe that's a bit harsh and I'm sure we would disagree, again, on some points but overall I am in agreement to some degree.

The modding community will save us from the SJW's wrath. Oooh, good world. You can't dam up the river indefinitely.

Im so excited to play this, I just cant run it on my computer at the moment. Maybe my girlfriends. I agree though, Tomb Raider as it currently is just doesn't have what brought me to the series in the first place; the atmosphere, the sense of danger and dread. And wonder. I hope this gets made one day.
