Thanks Charles!! I’m hoping to maybe hit a 1,000 in three or four months, or it would be fun if it was by the end of the year, but that may be a little optimistic! Thanks for watching and commenting!! 👊

Thank you! A good handle on recording and editing doesn’t hurt in making my voice sound better than it is. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!

Do you have an singing tips to reduce strain?
@DavidLockard3 жыл бұрын
I’ve been working through the courses on theworshipvocalist.com and that’s been super helpful over the past few years and I would recommend checking out their program, but also this song in particular is super high for me and I’m not nearly at the level of being able to perform it live. I was just challenging myself with the recording to be able to sing it in the original key, but I had to piece it together from lots of takes on the vocal just doing pieces at a time. If I was to do this live I would bring it down a few steps for sure!

Weird question but how do you learn all this weird chords you do
@DavidLockard3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ridge Chappell! Good question. As far as the oddball chords that I'm using, they aren't really a set of "chords" that I learned, but just notes that I'm adding to a familiar chord that I am grabbing with a free finger (or I move a finger to make it free) to match a lead line or a melody in the song I'm trying to play. Then I once I have figured out what I want to play with extra notes added, then I figure out what the names of the chords are afterwards. When I'm playing those weird chords, I'm not thinking of what they are called in my head as I play, I'm just thinking of what extra note or fret I need to play on to make it sound how I want it to sound. I'm not sure if that is super clear, but hopefully it's helpful in answering your question.

What interface and software do you use ,sounds so good ,and how what mic to record your guitar ,if you don’t mind ?

Thanks Victor! I’m glad you like it! I use pro tools for the most part (but I’ve also done projects in garage band and logic as well) and right now I’m recording everything with a Shure SM7b both for acoustic and vocal. I record all my audio first (guitar and vocal separately) and then I video to match the recording. I really like double tracking the acoustic (one fully panned left and one fully panned right) and just play them as close to the same as I possibly can so it still sounds like one guitar, also lately for some parts of the track I’m also triple tracking and adding a 3rd take of the guitar part panned straight up in the center. Sometimes the center one can make things a little phasey though so I really have to make sure I play it right in time with the other two, but it can give a really nice full sound! I use a good bit of EQ and Compression and multiple reverbs as well for the sound that I’ve been going for. I’m hoping to possibly make a video or series about my process sometime soon, but it’ll depend on how much time I have. Thanks so much for watching!

Your chord diagram doesnt even match what your hands are doin

Which part are you talking about? As far as I can see it’s all exactly what I’m playing, but I may have made a mistake somewhere.
