Linnea & Akela

Linnea & Akela

4 ай бұрын

After leaving the van, Akela, and Chris & Kobuk behind for 3 weeks in Peru, I returned to the states feeling renewed and inspired. However, February threw a few challenges my way, which has delayed some big plans for big videos... I talk about it all here, and I am so excited to be back with you all!
Thanks for being here :)

You act so very grounded and I know that’s important for me too. Congrats on your execution. Very sorry about your grandma. It’s tough. I resonate with your feelings as I’m 80 and found your feelings to be the important grounding. You’re very cool.

I can’t speak for everyone obviously, but personally I would so much rather get to see less frequent videos, knowing that you are getting the time to tell the stories you want, and also to do that in a way that is sustainable and mentally healthy for yourself. I feel so much gratitude for all that I’ve gotten to see and learn through your channel, and I love that you prioritize the quality and meaning of a video over a super strict once a week schedule. Thanks for all that you do and share :)

So glad to see you settled back into life with Chris, Akela, Kobuk and friends. I’m a fairly longtime subscriber and have always appreciated how real and genuine you are. I am so sorry that you ever receive any negative comments. No one deserves that but unfortunately some can’t seem to see the damage they can cause with caustic comments. I’m glad your Peru trip was amazing and can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on for you and all of us. I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother and wish peace and healing for you and your family. This is the love you asked us to send. I’ll send more elsewhere but you definitely deserve it too. 🫶

Linnea, you're one of the kindest souls, and I love how sincere and genuine you are. You allow us to come into many parts of your life. We don't have to be involved in all of it. We all need time to unplug and connect with spirit. Those who don't do this will not understand those of us who do. Keep being you. I appreciate being able to follow your journey with Akela. Love learning about the special people in your life and so looking forward to watching you discover your property. ❤ You're doing great. Blessings to your grandmother.

First off let me say thank you, for being so real. Also condolences for you snd your family on your grandmother’s passing. It’s unfortunate that you get any negativity from people and sad that they feel they can judge or comment on anything you share. I would like to send love and positivity to you all and huge gratitude. I personally have been going through an extremely difficult time for the past 4 years and since I found your channel it has been a real blessing to watch and be a part of your journey. It gives me time away from my own thoughts and allows me to breathe and feel a sense of peace to see all the beauty of how you live. Who knows I may even get to experience something similar in my future. Please keep doing you and again thank you. Big hugs to you all from me and my giant dog ❤🐾

Linnea - thank you for sharing your life with us. Don’t ever allow mean people to get you down- it is not about you, but about their own insecurities and their own lack of fulfillment. You and other people doing the work to live their dreams are just easy targets for the haters because you are in a public forum. Always know they are many, many more people that appreciate you and are inspired by your journey. I have had a rough 3 years, and people like you and others on you tube have shown me a way of life I never thought possible. At 52, I am reinventing my career again and setting out on an adventure as a park ranger / manager. Your thoughtful introspection has made me reflect on my own life and the things I was always drawn to (outdoors, camping, travel). Though I am not able to travel full time in my RV yet, this new job will at least have me in that environment, albeit on a local basis inside my state. However, I am grateful to have the opportunity to do that in anyway possible. You continue to inspire me to be better, and go for what I think is impossible. Can’t wait to see your new journey!

It’s funny because what attracts me to channels is what the creators put into it. Their vision, their experiences and thoughts and how they choose to present them. I just sit back and enjoy the experiences vicariously wishing I were there every time. The comment section to me is a place to let the creators know how much I enjoyed their posts and how much I hope they keep doing what they’re doing the way they want to do it because that’s the reason I follow. Not to tell people how I think they should do it and not to try to demean them for their vision or their opinions or way of life. When describing the channel to my daughter a while ago I said Linnea was this amazing free spirited and courageous person who lived her life with no limitations. If she dreamed of doing something she figured out how, gathered her resources and got to work and thankfully brought us all along for the ride. I would never dream of criticizing any part of it and it bothers me that others would. If you don’t like it go elsewhere you know? Easy peasy! You won’t be missed! I want to send my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your grandmother. She must’ve been a free spirit herself to raise the child who raised you to be the person you are today and who we are lucky to see in your posts. Peace to all of you plus beautiful skies and open roads. ❤

Linnea, I first found your videos years ago as I was building out a cargo trailer with a previous partner. I think it was your ceiling fan that we first watched. I am still watching today because I feel such a close kinship with you as a fellow women, explorer, badass, solo (not anymore for you!) traveling dog mom. I have loved watching you grow as a person and your videos have helped me continue to keep pushing myself forward and reminding myself that my dreams don't need to just be dreams. I CAN go after them, and I can accomplish anything I want. I think most of us will agree we love watching your videos weekly, but girl you do you. Don't live to make videos for us, live to make those beautiful memories for yourself, and your family! Much love and support from my four legs and I to you all.

You want us to send love to our favorite youtubers? I would love nothing more! I started watching your videos at the beginning of your journey as you struggled your way through your build. I watched everything you did, memorized some of your videos, had them playing in the background while I was trying to build out my own van. I have a PM1500 like you, so what you did, I did. It's been built out for 2 years now, I've taken my special needs son cross country twice, my dog hiking all over the east coast and cross country, I"ve slept out in single digits cold as well as triple digit heat. I have never had more fun than I have since I built out my van, and that says a lot being that I'm 64, Linnea, you and your brave approach to learning and making mistakes, empowered me to do the same and it changed my life. Though I'll never meet you, I remain forever grateful we crossed paths.

Linnea, nice to see you again and so glad you had a "vacation". I completely understand what you said about being free of prying eyes/judgments. It allows you to breathe without tension. I think less frequent and more meaningful videos is preferable to the 'canned regularly scheduled program'. Of course, content creators are subject to the penalties of irregular posting due to algorithms, etc. But I suspect it's healthier to not rely on just YT for income & therefore be free to post when and how you like. I for one, truly appreciate that you do share so much. It's good for this older person to see what the youth of today are up to. You're a shining star.

I feel bad for making a comment recently about being disappointed in the lack of content when you were buying the property. We get used to hearing from you, and it’s almost like we feel entitled to it. I’m sorry to add to any stress! You have a great head on your shoulders, and you make wise choices in being true to yourself. Screw people if they don’t like that. Really. Life is too short to spend any of it with people or things that don’t bring you joy or peace. That’s something I’m learning with age, and I’m way older than you are! Love you and your lil family. I ❤ u and your work! You're not doing anything wrong. We love you for being you! If it makes you feel any better, I'm a teacher and people like to tell us we signed up for crap too. No. I didn't sign up for being yelled at, for low income wages forever, for always increasing workloads, for ridiculously huge class sizes, etc. Once upon a time, I didn't think people considered themselves experts of education just bc they were once students. I have a master's degree and 23 years of experience, and I still have a lot to learn. I also never thought I'd be this tired all the time. I didn't think I'd have to work double my contracted (paid) hours to fulfill my job requirements. Life is hard.

The first thing that jumped out at me from this video is how healthy Akeela looks...her coat is thick and plush and she looks wonderful. I'm excited that you have started pottery but be very careful; It is addictive. You will be dragging a wheel out to your property and building a kiln in a future video...guaranteed.Hey! what about a combo kiln and pizza/bread oven? As I look around my home, I cannot count the number of pottery pieces I have on display. Over the years I have sold many many pieces but recently feeling overwhelmed I have donated 5 huge boxes (well over 200 pieces) to an urban dog rescue to be used at auctions and sales to raise money for the rescue. All this to say, you look great, and I'm so looking forward to your future videos, whether they are once a month or once a week. Stress is the worst thing for anyone's health. So many exciting things are to come to you. Sincerest condolences on the loss of your grandmother.

I love your content. My husband and I were inspired by you to build out our own tiny home in a promaster. We learned so much from your videos and really appreciate the details you gave in all of them. We continue to watch your content and enjoy you sharing your experiences. My thoughts are with you and your family as you grieve the passing of your grandmother.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your Grandma. Glad you got quality family time to mourn together. My deepest sympathy to you all. I’d love to see the pottery you’re making. I’ve always wanted to take pottery classes or have access to a wheel! Glad things are going pretty well. Have a great week!

My condolences to you and your family for your loss. I am too familiar with loss and I know it takes time to heal. Thank you for sharing your videos, you’ve always had my attention in whatever you share. Your life is interesting and I’ve I’ve learned a lot from you. You’re a sweet, caring beautiful inside and out amazing human being. For those who make mean unwanted comments, they are useless because they won’t change who you are and how you feel and us that love you, won’t change either how we feel about you and your lifestyle and that’s all that matters. Excited to see you on the next video 🙏❤️

You’re such an inspiration. So take your time, there’s no planning for that. Just be authentic, because that’s real to other people what they want to hear or see. Don’t give other people the power of what to do or think. People who hurt have been hurt themselves. Let’s give them a good example, how to be vulnerable and dare to choose for our dreams. And not for fear.

Condolences on the loss of your grandmother and it was good that you took the time to focus on your family (not this one). I had to smile when you talked about the only things you can control is your time & health and those are spotty. I think you can control how you react to things in your life. I have a saying “Never put your key to happiness in anyone else’s pocket”. Think of the people who post any negative or hurtful thing on your videos as robbers….they want to steal your joy and happiness. Do NOT give them that power, I do admire you and what you’re doing in your life. ❤❤❤sending love & best wishes.

You articulate these things (culture shock, excess, consumerism) so well. We all need to move toward simplicity and mindful consumption. Take your time to create what YOU want to….well be here when you’re ready. 🫶🏽

I think you should put out the content that inspires YOU, and by doing that it comes through in your videos. I cannot even fathom anyone saying anything hateful to you, but when that happens please try to just let it roll off your back like rain. You are an inspiration for living your life on your terms. Kudos to you!

Linnea I’m so saddened to hear about you getting ugly feedback. I don’t understand why or how people can be so mean when you are so kind to give us a glimpse into your world. I love your openness and your loving and caring heart. You and Akela have such a unique and beautiful connection and your family. I’ve enjoyed your videos these past 2 years I’ve watched. I wish the most blessed, loving and free spirit life for you and your circle.❤

So glad to see you today. My dogs and I have missed all four of you! They love watching your videos as much as I do. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother and it was good to hear about the quality time with your mother and brothers. I appreciated this discussion a lot, as I always appreciate the content you put out. It really is soul food for me. Podcast ideas: I want to hear you talk more about pottery (I dabble and love it) Connection/spirituality Book recommendations!! Both of you talking about your first pets, your journey of animal companions that led you to the two dogs we all know and love How to stay connected to "your people" or "community" when you are geographically far away- I feel like I struggle with this and I am not a nomad, so I am inspired by your richness in friendships Things you are both noticing about your refocus on health and your relationships with your body in terms of strength, movement, appreciation, etc Hopefully some of these ideas spark your interest, but I'm still along for the ride even if they don't. ❤️

Hi Linnea, it's Camryn from Canada! 🇨🇦 I just wanted to say that you are such an amazing person. I love your deep connection with nature, and your more simple way if living, as I can really relate to that. I am graduating highschool this year, and watching your videos gives me lote of inspiration of how I want to someday cultivate my life! Thank you for being authentically you and for being such a role model. Sending you lots of love! 💞 Thanks again, Camryn 😊

I always leave kind comments for people I admire. I think my annoyance comes from creators who copy their friends which is hard to watch at times when it’s so transparent they didn’t come up with the ideas theirselves and feels like I already seen the same thing. Great footage today. I enjoy your videos when they are authentic so looking forward to Peru footage.

I've been meaning to comment on several creators videos recently, because I recognize that they are always proactively apologizing about stuff. I know its because they have had so much criticism. It truly is sad. I'm so sorry about your grandmother passing. You are a beautiful human. Thanks for sharing. Xoxo

I came across your channel awhile ago when you spent the winter up north here somewhere in your van. I was intrigued by your entire living situation. I even learned a thing or two! No joke. Man I understand the culture shock of coming back here. We are so messed up. Well thankfully not all of us! Carry on. Yall are loved and appreciated.

There was a point there, where Kobuk looked right into the camera, giving me the feeling of being seen and being right there with you. I love following your journey. The ups and the downs and whatever you choose to share, whenever, honestly. I use it as an escape. A time for me to dream about being in a different situation and a different place. Thank you for giving me, and everyone else watching, this. You do it so well. It feels honest and personal and it allows me to mirror your feelings, lending me a bit of your adventure.

I love your videos! As someone else said, I'd rather I get to watch fewer videos and that you time for yourself. And the time to tell the stories the way you want. While doing it in a way that is good for you. I am so grateful I get the opportunity to follow you and Akela. You are such a lovely person, i love how genuine and real you are! And I love your videos so much precisely because you are so good at filming and bringing emotion into everything you do. And that you prioritize it over a fixed schedule ❤️

I have been excited for the Peru videos since you announced them after you finished up your off-grid winter challenge.. very happy to hear that they are on their way and that you are happy with them. The way you handled a shitty comment on insta a few weeks ago (they post something about being a trust fund baby and you flipped it into being positive and saying thaaaaanks) was inspiring! I'm so sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing, remember that she is with you always. I watched the podcast that Chris posted and have been mostly keeping up with your stories on insta, so was patiently waiting for your next instalment, and I know that you will post when you're ready. You are a true inspiration, Linnea. Thank you so much for sharing all that you do online. I wish there was something we could do to help protect you from the riff raff on the interwebs, but apart from keeping things positive, there's not much else we can do but ignore it. You are the only person on KZbin that I have notifications set up for because your content is so wholesome and I protect my attention like a pitbull (or german shepherd hehe). Thank you so much, again. You are a light in a world that needs light! Much love from NZ. 💕💕❤❤
