Hey guys! I’ve already had quite a few requests for mug/pottery purchases. I am not quite ready to sell yet, since I want to get a bit better! But I WILL be offering my creations soon :) They will be listed on my website eventually, and the best way to stay in the loop for “restock” day is through my newsletter. You can sign up for that here: eepurl.com/ixzQQc (it’s free!) As a perk to my paid Patrons, I will be giving them access to my hand thrown pottery first. Thanks so much for being here everyone, sending love to you all! Always be kind, Linnea & Akela

Linnea, speaking of pottery, I've been trying to get to you(in messages) this technique I saw that maybe you don't know about....thought of you instantly....sourdough discard(!!!!) and putting it on like a glaze before going in the kiln makes for some very intriguing style.

Stove bolts tip, when dealing with excessive vibration, mechanics will use a product called loctite. It’s like an industrial glue for just that. The bolt won’t come off by hand but will with ease with an appropriate wrench. It only takes one drop to do the job. ✌️👍

@chrisdaniel13399 ай бұрын
Normally if you have bolts loosening you can use locktite or a locknut with a nylon insert, but both of those solutions will probably not work with the heat of the woodstove. You need to get slightly longer bolts for your woodstove so you can use two standard nut (not a cap nut like the brass ones) once the first nut is tight and the stove is secure you put the second nut on the same bolt and when it makes contact with the first nut you use two open end wrenches and tighten the second bolt down while holding the first bolt still this will lock the nuts together and keeps them from loosening.

Linnea, great video. Your natural creativity comes through in your pottery. To have picked it up so quickly is testament to that. Beautiful! You also commented that you were sending in two months worth of payments on your land because you are using extra money to pay it off as soon as possible. First off let me say... Yay! I am so in favor of paying off debt ASAP. Second, if I may suggest, if you took out a loan on which you are paying interest and if it is allowed by your lender, you would be far better off to pay any extra money you have directly on the principal of the loan rather than making two payments at a time. Putting money directly on the principal reduces the interest calculation each month, where as just making two regular payments at a time only reduces the principal by a slightly smaller amount than normal only because the number of days in that second month's interest calculation is reduced. As you know, at the beginning of a loan, the majority of your payment is going towards the interest and a small amount towards the principal. So putting any extra money directly on the principal each month not only reduces your principal faster, it reduces the amount of interest you will pay over all. And wouldn't you love that extra money to spend on other things? Good luck to you!
@ronda73409 ай бұрын
I'm so glad you thought to tell her this. It is so so true. When I was buying my house, someone told me if you make one extra house payment a year but put it on the principal you will pay it off 5 years early. But definitely great advise....

I guess the thing people wanted to know and I also do, is how do you keep your dog from over heating in the vehicle? So in the summer, do you leave an air conditioner on? In the winter if you're gone for awhile do you have an issue with her getting too cold in the vehicle alone? Also have you ever had an issue with someone trying to get in or steal your home? Your dog's food is so healthy and great for her teeth. Mine love raw beef bones and it cleans their teeth so well. Love the spotted clay and the turquoise glazes. I always thrift hand thrown mugs from the thrift store when I find them.

I love your videos!. Thank you for sharing. You picked up centering on the wheel so quickly. I also love creating with clay . I fell in love with it at a senior center in Utah, of all places. Eventually wound up teaching there. If your studio has a scale, measure about 2 pounds of clay to make a mug/cylinder 4 3/4 tall × 4 1/2 inches wide ( wet measurement ). That makes a good size mug after all the shrinkage from both the bisque and glaze firings. Your first batch of mugs look amazing! Congrats!

Recently had a friend drive all the way from Canada to Florida...I showed him the ropes of urban camping but he never tried out his van, or his bed, or his rig...he couldn't stand the noise, he couldn't stand the inconvenience, he couldn't stand going to the park or beach or whatever to hang out...he lasted 5 days then drove home to sticks and bricks. He was enamored by the glamorized part of this lifestyle but it's NOT all that. He never tested anything first. 😊

Hmmmm, it's so weird to me that we have to kinda convince each other to feed our animals their Proper species diet. Baffles me that people have fallen for the poison business called kibble. You know, dogs didn't used to get all these common human sicknesses. In fact, humans should be eating only meat as well. But don't take my word. Check out millennia of evolution. Except for the recent agricultural era, approx 8-10 thousand years ago. Of course, I'm only mentioning this because I CARE about this lovely KZbinr AND humans everywhere

Regarding your wood stove, to reduce vibration adding small rubber blocks or washers to each fix point might help. I'd suggest using a product called Loctite on the bolts, but I've seen you want it removable... So maybe not. I'm currently doing a bus conversion in wine country, Barossa Valley, Australia. Really enjoying your vids, and find it interesting how other women do van & bus life ... Granted I'm a little older, in my mid 40s & only discovered this lifestyle around 5 yrs ago, always learning 😊❤ I'm now a business/marketing coach & hypnotherapist working online, so it's easy to transition to travel while working. I hear U with feeling drained by being in the city & only took notice once my health was suffering & was forced to slow down... Fabulous that you pay attention to how our environment affects our energy... in so many ways! It's only in the past 10 yrs I've done a deep dive into health & spiritual aspects. Much love & safe travels xx❤

Congrats to you. One thing I will say is please don't give away your very first favourite...it is something you will look at in the future and compare your most recent mugs to. also never give away or sell anything you are not proud to have out there in the world. i.e. the one with the cracked handle. You don't want your handle giving away on someone who has just filled it with steaming coffee. Having said all that, GOSH I am so impressed with your work 🥰 I also love mugs and when I tell you my cupboards are bending under the weight of my mugs, I'm not exaggerating. I am never so at peace as I am when sitting in front of the wheel. ( my favourite is the trimming process...I could trim all day. ) Cannot wait to see more of your pottery journey.

It takes courage to show this life style from the inside. Living this type of life means leaving behind so many of the luxuries people take for granted. Dealing with the weather, finding a safe pace to sleep, unexpected mechanical breakdowns, primitive meals, having clean clothes, staying clean, locating clean water, the list goes on and on. This life is not for everyone, and kudos to those who yearn for adventure, and seek out this lifestyle. To see you dealing with these challenges reveals your inner strength and determination to overcome the daily obstacles of van living.

I would not recommend charging the BLUETTI with the 12volt. We have a 2023 Promaster and it kept blowing the fuse in the cable. We brought it in and the technician said it could have burned our van down. It can’t support the load. The wires are too small, it’s only meant to charge a phone. Just a heads up🔥
