Hi, thank you for your cruise port information. However, I was wondering, when you said you use private transportation, do you take Uber or ride from other private tour company? Thanks

We used an UBER driver and it was ~$110 - $125 for the 1.5 hour trip to the port. Just remember to have the port address handy in case you need to get specific directions as it is an industrial port.

Santiago was the safest place of all we were in when in South America. The Uber was fine - the address to the port is the most important thing to give the driver so that he can load it into the GPS map. The driver will most likely not speak English (your hotel doorman can help there as well) and will use a translation app on his phone to communicate with you. Ubers can be tracked by license number and their app, so there is a safety net there. Always use your best judgement. If you don't feel comfortable using the Uber service, use the ship's transport (I think it was $88/person) to get to the ship - a couple on the boat used it and really liked the service and drive to San Antonio. Hope this help.

@@sightseewithjg6828 Thanks FYI. How many passengers can Uber take? Can Uber driver take 4 with 4 big suitcases ? Thanks

@@Tanya-s4q A typical Uber driver will drive a normal sedan vehicle so it would not be feasible to fit 4 passengers and large suitcases in it. When requesting an Uber, you would want to ask for an SUV or minivan so that all of you can ride comfortably and fit your luggage in the vehicle.
