Ah yes, that person in the story forgot that there is a crucial callout that you can use called "he's behind you". If they aren't looking where they should be, use directional callouts; that teammate was a complete idiot considering he did nothing that round anyways.
@kanjakan3 жыл бұрын
I agree. It should've been obvious by his response that he is confusing kitchen and shop.
@chillbro10103 жыл бұрын
The fact he's writing as if he has YEARS of experience and knowledge of the game and can singlehandedly take out an entire team with one-deegs shows that's its made up. Someone who doesn't know call outs would never assume so assuredly that they know where a call out is, and they wouldn't talk back to someone who tells them they are wrong.
@Gunbudder3 жыл бұрын
The radar and color coding in COD had me and my friends calling out like "your left" with a glance at the map. We literally never used map based call outs, and only used relative call outs with the exception of saying how many are at A B or C. It's such a difference from CS, where you have to use map call-out because you only have a vague sense of where your own team mates are
@Bestgameplayer103 жыл бұрын
@@Gunbudder Because unlike SnD in CoD, CSGO is very team oriented. In CoD, you can essentially play without speaking to your teammates whatsoever as long as you have a general sense of where the enemies can be and listen closely to footsteps. I would assume the biggest different is how much slower paced CSGO can be alongside so regenerating health, therefore it’s hardly necessary to be very team oriented in CoD. Lastly, CSGO is naturally competitive while CoD isn’t (which is partly why I generally prefer CoD over CSGO), so map callouts are hardly important.

A note of GHOTI: There is a term in linguistics called phonotactics which governs where certain phonemes (letters or digraphs) can be used. Gh only makes an f sound at the end of words and ti only makes the sh sound in the middle, for example. English phonotactics certainly are a bit convoluted, but ghoti is a poor example of that, despite being commonly used. Edit: "Governs" probably isn't the best term since natural languages don't really have strict rules so much as general practices. I think about this stuff more in the context of conlangs that natural languages, which is why I thought of it more as rules. Sorry about that.

@Luckyyshot3 жыл бұрын
It's also the callouts in EU. The higher level you reach in CS, the more standardized the callouts become. Kitchen as a callout is rarely used at all these days. It is used for market sometimes, and sometimes kitchen refers to the back of apps (eventhough most people call that back apps).

What? You're against fusing words together to make new ones? I, as a german, disapprove of that!
Nah in German you stick them together, same in Dutch. It's a rule in these languages that you can just do that if you want. Philip was talking about something completely different, when people only take a part of each word and stick those together. This is normally against the rules.

Oh and before we get to callouts, we need to recognize that so many people call info after it happens or call it after they complain. I always see this in MM, some streamers, and in third party ranked ladders where you have 2 pushing B and call it after they kill you or for the latter scenario you swing on a flanker, die, scream "F THIS GAME", he kills your secondary anchor, then you say "one flanking"...

Then we went appartments 1 guy stayed behind watching backalley. Me, friend and 2 other players went in apartments and i was going first my teammates + friend behind me and i jumped out of the window (apartment window). I was looking shop and i called out "2 SHOP" and my teammate sayed "what?" And i sayed again "2 Shop" and he died. He yelled at me "WTF THATS KITCHEN U NOOB WORST PLAYER EVER U NUB" and they wanted to kick me but atleast i had my friend and i didint get kicked. My teammates where toxik the rest of the game and to my friend too. Thats all and thats it. I hate playing with strangers........

The callout "kitchen" is like the weapon name "scout". Neither of those are officially in CSGO, but some people still use them because of 1.6. kitchen = market scout = ssg 08 There are a lot more callouts that come from older versions of CS and aren't officially in game. You still should understand some of them.

The "gay spots" in Brazilian Counter-Strike are called "newba", which is a corruption of "newbie", meant obviously to insult anyone who hides in there. In Mirage A site, it refers specifically to that spot on the right, where there are 2 boxes that box you in.

It's good when callouts are very connected with the area you try to point out, so it's more of a quick logic logic assumption than a randomly decided memory game. I don't know what the callout for the market is, but if someone shouts "shop" i'll easily understand what they meant.

As an NA guy who's been playing for only a couple years, i've never heard anyone refer to "market"(shop i guess) as kitchen, its always been the room in apts with the stove. That's wicked lol.
@SuperGenericUser3 жыл бұрын
It's pretty easy to figure out, the spot in aps is a part of the approach and a callout is rarely needed. The "real" kitchen spot (In the shop) has direct vision onto the site and lots of engagements are made from there, so a callout is needed. If you look at callout maps you'll quickly find that areas around T-spawn are big (For example T-spawn on Mirage which probably spans 20% of the map) since there are normally no engagement there, whereas areas around the bomb sites can sometimes be as small as just a corner. It's all about where intel is needed and where it's not.
