If Mr Rowe has been campaigning actively for the associated parliamentary seat and the pnp determines that they want to field a different candidate for the same seat for strategic reasons and the pnp didn’t openly discuss the matter and respect Mr Rowe political career. Once the pnp approaches Mr Rowe with a financial offer to disengage from contesting the seat that is essentially a breach of trust. The breach of trust occurs if the pnp had previously promised Mr Rowe that they would support his candidacy, based on their shared goals, commitments and principles made previously. Thus by offering money to withdraw without transparent disclosure for the trust Mr Rowe placed in the pnp, the pnp essentially undermines the trust and good faith that formed the basis of Mr Rowe ongoing involvement.
