The power Zelda uses at the end of BotW is the Light Force mentioned in The Minish Cap. Every princess of hyrule has it and it’s separate from the Triforce. Edit : the reason we know it’s separate from the Triforce is that the Triforce was a gift from the Golden Goddesses and the Light Force was given to the royal family by the Minish/Picori along with the sacred Picori Blade.

Well a popular theory suggests that totk is also the prequel to skyward sword. And in that game there’s a part where you look for info about the triforce but the only one that knows about it is levias which means that if the popular theory is true than we have some good evidence to suggest that forgetting about is completely logical

From what I can remember are these 3 times we last saw in all 3 timelines. In the child timeline the triforce disappears at the end of Twilight Princess when Ganondorf dies probably going to the Golden Realm. In the Adult timeline, the King used the trifold to save Link and Tetra and was basically left in Hyrule under the sea probably lost forever. In the Fallen Timeline, we last see the trifoce used to wake up Zelda 1 from the sleeping curse. We don’t know what happened after but I assume it also went to the Golden Realm as well. So my theory is that it probably disappeared or went into the Golden Realm after all timelines merged and over time it’s just become a legend.

Zelda still uses the power of Triforce without coming in contact with any Stones in BotW. 4. Triforce pieces usually don't do anything until they're combined into one of three parts. Hero of the Winds didn't become any stronger with every Triforce shard he found. 5. Secret Stones are always referred to as Zonai artifacts, while Zonai also worship the Triforce in its representations of an Owl, Boar and a Dragon. Secret Stones have no individual names or characteristics.

My personal headcanon at this point is that after so many cycles the three fragments of the Triforce have become permanently entwined with the Spirit of the Hero, the Reincarnation of the Goddess, and the twisted grudge of Demise. I feel like at this point, the Triforce no longer exists as a physical artifact containing the essence of the gods and is now instead a spiritual distillation of Power, Wisdom, and Courage, forever bound to the three beings who most exemplify those traits. I dunno', just an idea i had.

I have a few theories: 1. The triforce is said to whisper wishes to the gods. It's possible (but admittedly unlikely due to Skyward Sword) that the Goddess Statues (or potentially just the major statues) that communicate with Hylia possess fragments of the Triforce. 2. The three non-light dragons are loosely associated with the three aspects of the triforce. Could they have once been the guardians of the triforces of Power, Wisdom and Courage? 3. This one's boring, but potentially at some point the Triforce was destroyed and bound to the reincarnations of Link, Zelda and Ganon. This would explain Zelda's immense power, Link's semi-superhuman abilities and Ganondorf's greater power from his Secret Stone when compared with the other sages, outside of "they're powerful because the plot says so".

I like to imagine it was used to reunite the timelines which began a new history aware of the old histories and the triforce was permanently bonded with our three bearers. Link is stated to be highly unusual even by hylian standards which could be because of the ToC having massive strength as well as seemingly having the ability to bear any burden, Zelda’s line has been blessed with incredible sealing powers which could be born of her line bearing the ToW as well as the blood of the goddess. TotK Ganondorf seems more powerful than any other incarnation we’ve ever seen easily overwhelming sages and Zelda, the secret stones can only amplify what already exist and multiplying the ToP could be the reason why he’s even more formidable than every other incarnation even making him capable of creating something like Calamity Ganon.

My theory is that the shards of the triforce were originally just secret stones in Rauru and Sonia's time. The three triangles in the Hyrule crest original just represented the three values of the family (courage, wisdom, and power). At some point, three secret stone holders consumed their stones and became the dragons Farosh, Dinraal, and Naydra who then became called the goddesses Farore, Din, and Nayru by later generations (we already know that the later generations believed the Zonai were gods). Maybe these generations also beleived Zelda, the light dragon, was the goddess Hylia?

They came back down to the world to protect the Triforce from being abused by people like Ganon. So they did the forbidden act and all ate their respective piece of the Triforce. My personal theory is that the original Hyrule was kind of just like disbanded and destroy during a big bow with Gannon at one point and the triforce was used to defeat him but put the sacred realm, after that Rauru kind of a remade Hyrule and just took a bunch of concepts from the Old Kingdom without knowing the whole thing about them, and he was the first king of Hyrule two, this also fixes a few plot holes with Ganondorf being under the castle the entire time.

My theory; the three goddesses of hyrule Din, Faro and Naydru were all parts of the tri force, and when danger struck they became dragons to protect the elements and hyrule, this makes sense as the color scheming all match the 3 springs, courage wisdom and power, all linking back to the tri-force. They contained the 3 main elements; fire, lightning and ice. They most likely had secret stones but a more pure and strong version, and their draconification caused multiple variants of the stones. And maybe the light and time stones are combinations of all 3 stones. Just a theory though!

im glad someone mentioned this. Clearly, the story has just begun with this new timeline (botw and totk), and we see a hint of it in botw. Totk was more of a background story to this new timeline, and the main goal of this story was to explain the secret stones. period. After this, a new game WILL come out which advances the story further past the secret stones, and eventually re address the triforce.

Heres a crazy theory, botw and totk are the three separate timelines in the series merging together because three seperate timelines split the goddesses power between them and the goddess is weakened from doing that so she had to merge them to balance stuff out. My theory is that the Triforce is literally Ganondorf, Zelda and Link. Going back in time, Sonia, Rauru and Ganondorf. Each representing Courage: Rauru, Wisdom: Sonia and Power: Ganondorf. Zelda goes back in time and the first to die is Sonia. Zelda has represented Wisdom in other titles. The catch here is that there are only ever 3 at one time. Zelda’s appearance in the past meant that one had to be replaced. And she “overwrote” Sonia. Then, using a power to Banish Evil (Rauru & Master Sword used by Link) fight Ganondorf the evil. The Master Sword has already been in the past at this point, meaning it’s sole master would need to exist. So Rauru ultimately had to sacrifice himself to seal Ganondorf thus setting up Link, Zelda and Ganondorf/Ganon all existing at the same point in time. And they’ve been locked like that ever since. All ironically had not existed truly until just a little over 100 years ago. Then were all sealed away yet again. Calamity Ganon was a good way of showing where their own strength stood at the time. Proving both Link and Zelda were that much stronger than they were at the end of Breath of The Wild. Having been able to kill Ganondorf. But now that he is gone, there needs to be a replacement for “Power”

The triforce split apart and went to the people who were most in tune with each virtue Gannon has the triforce piece of Power , Zelda has the the triforce piece of wisdom & Link has the Piece of Courage which is why their fates are Eternally tied but in botw and totk they dont show the marks on the back of their hands as they usually do in other games except when Zelda destroys calamity gannon at the end of botw so its possible that they still possess their individual pieces handed down from their ancestry

after playing through totk a couple of times I'm almost 100% sure that it's in a different timeline, I know that everyone thinks it's a direct sequel but you'd think that zelda would have a clue on who Ganondorf is when she gets sent to the past considering she fought a form of him for 100 years, the complete lack of sheikah tech bar for the tower purah helped build

I'm on the Zonai Stones are fractured Triforce pieces. I don't know how else Gerudo King Ganondorf equipping one instantly transforming an already super large Gerudo man into a freak of nature growing even bigger with head horns making him Demon King Ganondorf unless its fractured pieces of the Triforce. Unless these Zonai Stones are totally their own item or entity, which is possible. However, turning Ganondorf into the Demon King, i think Zonai Stones are fractured Triforce pieces.

i think what happened is that certain aspects of triforce were used in totk. Zelda: Her tear made her go back in time.. Or did it? my theory is that with the help of the triforce, it kinda went into the stone making it powerful enough to make her go back. Here's my theory. WHAT IF! The triforce was used to rewrite the history of the whole LoZ series to merge the three separate timelines into one! That's why there's some similarities and references to the other games in Botw and Totk, and somehow different altogether. The obtainable amiibo weapons and equipments in Totk would probably support this theory, as well as other things that I don't have the knowledge of. As for where I think the triforce is, it's a bit complicated: First thought; "It was also wished to never be used again." Something similar to what happened in Lorule in 'Link between worlds', except it wasn't completely destroyed, but loses it's wishing power, and it's sole purpose is to prevent the whole world from falling apart. This will prevent messing up the world of LoZ again Second thought; "It was scattered throughout the whole world outside the Kingdom of Hyrule" Since the triforce was used to create the world (ikdfs), that doesn't mean it only resides inside the Kingdom of Hyrule. As for why, idk. Third thought; "I'm out of ideas"

This is basically just a wild guess and has no evidence to it but on the mural it says that when the Zonai descended from the heavens they had 7 secret stones (Rauru/Zelda, Sonia/Ganon, Mineru, and the 4 sages). And to become a dragon you have to swallow a secret stone. Which begs the question, how did Naydra, Dinraal, and Farosh become dragons if they’re were only seven. They possibly could’ve swallowed the pieces of the triforce, rather than secret stones.

I believe all three symbols are lit on zeldas hand, meaning that she not only has wisdom, but the other 2. That may be the "something extra" beyond sacred Hylia light power and Time Sage power when Rauru mentions he can read the energies coming off of Zelda.

Theory : since farosh naydra and dinraal are based off of farore nayru and din I think maybe the next game will cover more into the 3 dragons and the triforce, since farore nayru and din made the triforce I think the shards of the triforce will be in the 3 dragons and instead of the main quest being with the 4 regions it’s instead gonna be with the 3 dragons and getting the triforce
