This place is not really a dump. It’s actually in a nice neighborhood, and back in 1974, it would have been even nicer than it is now. I have been inside that apartment. It is the one located to the right, on the bottom floor. The current resident was kind enough to let me inside when I was visiting for research. He knew about the history of the place, and had a book about Jim and Pam by the front window as a memorial. There are several sources of incorrect information circulating out there about her last place of residence. Nice video to share with the fans and those interested.

Exactly. I live about a mile away from there in a slightly nicer neighborhood and that 'dump' probably rents for around $3K a month. I'm guessing the maker of this video had to come down off his perch in the Hollywood Hills to record this and found it appalling. lol
@tracylynnedgar57884 жыл бұрын
Many here are writing it was the upper apartment. Was the book there as a memorial perhaps Angels Dance and Angels Die by Patricia Butler? That is a great read on Jim and Pam. Probably the best really as it goes back to the childhood of each and isn’t just focused on Jim. It is also very non judgmental and takes into account the young age of the two of them, without straying into them being “ victims”. Many do not realize the portion of the brain responsible for reason and logic does not fully develop until the age of on average 27-29 years of age.

That 'dumpy' apartment probably rents for $3K a month now. At the time of his death, Jim's estate was reportedly worth around $400K, and today is worth $80 mil. Split between the Courson and Morrison families. But I imagine there was a lot to sort out after his death, so she may not have had access to it. If wasn't for his "beloved" Pamela Jim would have lived longer. I read that it was Pamela's drugs that Jim died from. Pamela was nothing but a leech who spent all her money on heroin. Maybe that is why she ended up living in a dump despite all the money she inherited from Jim. What did Pamela ever do to earn even a modicum of recognition? I hear she ran a dress shop financed by none other than Jim. She lived through Jim and earned her fame through being attached to Jim. Pamela was nothing. According to the other members of the Doors, Pamela was a parasite, who considered the Doors a threat and a hindrance to her ability to control and possess Jim. And yet she lived on Doors' money. What did JIm do to attract such a parasitical heroine addicted bitch into his life? Heterosexual men can be very stupid when being seduced by females. You say you hope that Pamela and Jim are together in the next life. Well, I hope the opposite. Let's hope that Jim never meet this parasite known as Pamela in any future existences. I have spent more than enough time writing about Pamela on this KZbin site. And the only reason anyone is interested in watching this video is because of Pamela's association with Jim Morrison. Pamela has no value on her own.

I don't need to write a tell all book on Jim and Pam because several authors have already done the research and written and published several books on the Doors. I have read every book on the Doors that has been published including those books written by Doors' members themselves. None of these books portray Pam in a positive light. Then if you disagree with the authors then the problem is with the authors and publishing company that is supposed to fact check the books. The producer of the last Doors documentary showed up for a question and answer at the film theatre and he pretty much confirmed what the authors of the many books write. But if you have other information from credible sources which would reverse my opinion on Pam I would happily reverse my opinion on Pam. But then, maybe nobody knows the truth.

Very sad but fascinating. Thank you for the tour! Pamela inherited Jim's money but it was still in probate at her death. She could only access a little of it. Her parents and Jim's though cashed in obviously after their children's deaths. As common law Pamela was Jim's wife. Even in letters that he wrote he often referred to her parents as 'the in-laws', and Pamela often signed her name on checks as 'Pamela Morrison' which is how she was named on her grave marker when her ashes were interred. Her parents used these documents to further boost their claim that Jim and Pamela were married (per common law) and to boost their claim to Jim's fortune. And in the end of course the California courts recognized Jim and Pamela's relationship as a common-law marriage, which is legal in other states. I wonder who are now executors of Jim's estate now that Jim and Pamela's parents have all passed on? Their respective siblings perhaps. Jim had wanted his sister Anne and brother Andy to inherit if Pamela died but it didn't work out that way.

He said that if she inherited jim's wealth then why did she live in a dumpy apartment like this? Well, for one she was a heroin addict and I also read that she bought a fur coat, a car and a bunch of heroin with the money Jim left her and after that she was broke. Sounds pretty realistic if she was addicted like that...

Faithful already said she sold and delivered the heroine that killed Jim. Everyone should read her book really interesting. Also talks about her OD when Mick was filming the Ned Kelly Movie here in Australia
@marmaladekamikaze7 жыл бұрын
According to what I read she said in 2014, she claims she was "asleep" and "in bed", but that her boyfriend sold the heroin to Morrison. I personally think Faithful was involved in some way, but she is tight-lipped on what really happened. Morrison's friend Alain Ronay, the club manager Sam Bernett and Roger steffen's interview with Densmore that is found here on youtube, all point to Faithful being more involved than she claims. Though of course she won't be honest and claims that "I fell asleep"...yeah right, and black is white too Marianne.

marmaladekamikaze Pam had the hots for the Count, and the Count was having money problems apparently. One could speculate that perhaps Jim was accidentally on purpose given China white Heroin instead of cocaine, and he being super drunk didn’t really look at it & snorted a monster line.

You failed to mention, that Mr. Sugarman, who comes off as being honest, actually met up with Pam in a bar, a few months after Jim died...She was sloshed, of course, and invited him to her place--they had sex...but in the morning, Sugarman awoke to the sound of a plate crashing against the well, near his head...Pam was shrieking at him, telling him to get out, and telling him that Jim, if he were alive, would have killed him!...This is how unstable she was.

Pamela got involved with a pimp who brought her into prostitution before she was able to receive a bit of her inheritance from Jim's royalties. As soon as she got her hands on that money ( after years of probate) The very first thing she bought was a Volkswagen car, a fur coat and some China white. (Heroin) She had a hard time fighting for her inheritance , her drug habbit forced her into prostitution. It's a very sad story. Pamela Courson was heartbroken after losing Jim.

What was it about LA..in those days. It's now only a whisper in the winds here. Playful days beautiful days for many everywhere. These artists came from all over. Probably at the time they weren't given as much attention as they later got. Not sure about the whole story, but if there is one big lie, say a fake beard, then that means there were a lot of others. I don't think it's that easy to get that big for there were many talented musicians and attractive people. Theres a lot of great KZbin videos and online pics to help you figure it all out, but the possibilities may shock you.

Success, especially in Tinsiltown, is a matter of luck, great looks, and who you get together with...It has been that way, since the movie industry cranked up, over a hundred years ago! As a rule, only the "High-and-Tight Butted" people need apply, according to what David Niven's great autobiography says!
