Oh, The Doors! I grew up listening to them because of my father as well and there is just something magical about hiking the canyons while listening to any of their albums. A true influence on me as a person and I do feel I lived a past life in that time. Truely miss the ghosts and vibes that reside in the whole of LA and Southern California. Thank you for this video. 🥂🖤❤🌸🌼🏵🌺

Years ago, I was hired by Jim’s mom and father to do a landscape renovation at their home in Chula Vista. After that, they hired me again to renovate the garden at their weekend home in Coronado. I have a lot of stories from working with them so closely. Jim’s father was a real man’s man, super nice and very sincere. As for Jim’s mom, that’s another story LOL…

He was way, way retired already when I worked for them. They both were senior citizens at the time. His father was well respected in Coronado. Small island off San Diego. There is a naval base their as well. Probably why they had a home there from years back…. The homes were nothing special, small one story homes. I always wondered why they would live in Chula Vista during the week and Coronado during the weekends. Since it was a 10-15 minute drive from one home to another. I know his father had a lot of retired friends on the island and they would have brunch, dinners at the club as well as gulf during the weekends…

His mom was always grouchy and she defined wore the pants in the family. She was always attempting to haggle me on prices. She would add items and pretend as if they were already included in the original agreement. She wasn’t nice to work with. When we first met, she was lovely. As soon as I started the claws came out lol. But I was used that clients like that. His dad really would not get involved, but it was a real pleasure speaking with him - when he did. Just a real nice person. A couple years later, I saw him eating at the bar table alone having breakfast at Denny’s on Harbor Drive (demolished now), I went up to him and asked how he was… Always a nice man :)

As a 16 year old kid I was exploring back stage at the Spectrum in Philadelphia during the intermission of a Doors concert. I went through a second double door in the back and as soon as I opened it Jim Morrison was standing right there. I think I said excuse me and he smiled . Next thing security asked me why I was back there. I told them I was lost . They escorted me back to my side stage ticket seat. I will never forget that . Note: I remember we were just about even , the same height . I am 6’1”.

There is a street name Love here in Albuquerque just a couple miles away from where Jim Morrison’s childhood home was for a few years. I walked the street on my way to kindergarten in the early 80’s, I always sing this song when I pass the street, at least once a week.

I Love The Doors, in 1998 I visited Paris, Père Lachaise Cemetery, and found Jim Morrison's grave and there is always two Gendarmes guarding Jim's grave (the original bust from headstone was stolen), I went to visit Jim's apartment where he lived and died. Opposite the apartment is a bar Jim frequented, and they have Jim's leather coat etc on the wall, love Paris and Jim Morrison

Absolutely loved this video Michael! I appreciate the historical perspective you include, such as the July 1959 Laurel Canyon fire. Although its hard to make out, I think the newsreel announcer is saying a mother and child died in the fire, in addition to a family dog. I'm a great fan of the Doors and remember Jim's shocking death. Did you know The Doors last concert took place here in New Orleans on December 12, 1970? The performance was at the old Warehouse music venue on Tchoupitoulas Street. The second, and fatefully last performance of Riders on the Storm took place that night. Jim was in very bad shape which resulted in the tour being cancelled. Sadly, The Warehouse was demolished in 1989 but there is a historic marker at the site. The Warehouse opened in January 1970 and closed after a Talking Heads concert in 1982.

Love the Song, "the End"--- there's no getting around that dark deep meaning of that tune, and how beautifully executed in a ominous way... I think Nico was the only one I have heard that did the best cover of that song ---- no one else comes close... Jim was a very talented, and a troubled man (he was both famous and infamous, at the same time)... LOVE the Morrison street art, and location shots, as well.... Thanks, for the 'Lost Boys' hang, last night.... Happy Halloween, GriMMs...... :^)""""""""

Would be nice if you toured the various sites regarding the real Jim and Pamela, as a couple, outside of the Doors, outside of whatever myths and legends regarding the two (sure it’s been done before, but you two add a realistic perspective). They were in a real relationship, similar as other real couples, which includes the good, the bad and the mundane. Visit Pamela’s boutique, the house where we lost her, her forever home in Santa Ana (since Jim’s final home is pretty inaccessible to most of us), etc.. The two help make each other, and eventually destroyed each other.

Thank you for sharing this video. It is awesome thinking about how Jim and Pam lived there and would watch the creatures going in and out of the store. The Doors are my favorite band and have been for over 25 years! Jim had a voice like no other and looks like no other. I've been to the Whiskey and actually saw a cover band of The Doors there and I would absolutely love to visit Love St someday. My parents raised us on the sounds of the 60s and I personally think no Era compares to the music of the magical 60s. I would have loved to have seen Jim Morrison perform with The Doors but I wasn't close to being born yet. My dad actually saw The Doors at the Whiskey before they were famous. So thank you dad for liking The Doors 😊 and The Stones and my mom The Beatles ❤️

I just rewatched The Doors movie on a whim the other day. How strange is that? Was thinking about Jim and his time on Earth. The movie, however, is mostly fiction. I grew up listening to The Doors thanks to my older brother, who loved the organ sound of Ray Manzarek. He became a professional musician and later worked as Ray's keyboard tech for almost a year when The Doors reunited with The Cult's Ian Astbury on vocals back in the early 2000s. I always have wanted to visit this place and I think I've found another trip destination inspired by The Grimm Life Collective. Happy Halloween, guys!

They came to my house in Westfield, MA after their last Hartford concert. My dad's favorite cousin Vince Treanor was their road manager. He is 87 now and a completely self absorbed narcissist, just came back from South Korea after repairing Church organs for decades, has nothing to his name and Social Security doesn't give him crap. They way he talks about the "Korean boys" I'm sure they liked his stories. I only got one story out of him about the Doors, how Jim ate a hunk of hash in Amsterdam and had to be taken to the hospital. Jim didn't do cannabis generally.

Love that you love the Doors. I'm currently editing his bodyguard's autobiography (he was the Stones' bodyguard as well).

A little late to the party but really enjoyed this one. Been a fan of the Doors for over twenty, if not pushing 30 years. I had never seen this before, but very familiar with the lyric. Thanks for tying it together!

Love the channel and Love the Doors, watching this as I peek at the framed OG Jim Morrison Wanted poster on my wall that my late father got back in 1968.

💜✨ Great video, I love The Doors and Jim so much I wrote a poem about him and published it in the poetry book, “Under the Scattered Sun” “Through the Breaks” A wild child like the calm before the storm A mesmerizing danger Stirs up the world With a whirlwind of words A lizard king waits in the sun Among the desert lords A spirit and mind mixed together With a poetic nature Steps through the breaks of time Opening the door to the other side Between this world and the next His voice will be heard Forever echoing from the beyond Tune in or tune out However you can hear the songs. R.I.P. Jim Morrison
