Well, I supported my ex. And he went out of his way to destroy my credit. I also paid for his truck driving classes so he could finally after 8 years get a steady job. I'm the judges don't just give money away you have to show significant verifiable losses which I could. My state is very hard on non working women. My exes lawyer told me I didn't have a leg to stand in so when the judge issued a he finding she literally had her mouth drop open

That one sounds to me like the mother wanted either to terminate the pregnancy or give up the child for adoption and grandma talked her in to keeping it saying "I'll take care of it". She should have made grandma adopt the child so it would no longer be her legal responsibility.

However, my 17 year old classmate is keeping care of her kid despite not choosing the life, so why can't the adult woman? Two people had to stand in front of everyone at my church and apologize for having sex.... The worst part was that they didn't know what sex was.

I kinda feel for Sterling's mother. As a kid who also wasn't wanted/planned, with a grandma who said "give her to me! I love kids! I want a granddaughter!" (I'm the first grandkid), I know I always did so much better when my mother wasn't in the picture. There's a lot of stigma with moms who regret having kids, or didn't want kids in the first place. I don't know this woman's story, but I know with *my* mother, I wish she'd been strong enough to stand up against family pressure and have an abortion, or put me up for adoption, leave me on a firestation porch, SOMETHING 😭 it's so obvious when a mom doesn't like/want that kid and resents them. I suffered, my mother suffered, neither of us had the lives we could've because of the impact of her lack of agency. My mother didn't choose to *make* me (🍇), I can't say whether this woman's in the same boat, but I can definitely understand why she (apparently) wants to cut ties entirely with the poor kid. If what she's saying is accurate, I can't blame her for being bitter about grandma wanting backup for a kid she never even wanted, and was pressured to have, assured the kid would be taken care of without her

If a perant has to pay the other perant child support why is the figure not just uniform. The state has allready determined the cost of raising a child, it is supposed to be the amount they pay in state benifit (if that figure is not realistic then it's on the state). The paying perant should just pay that Imo. If women have a problem with that then maybe they should not try and abuse the existing system with rediculous demands like we see here. I mean good god what kind of argument is "I refuse to work and because I'm not earning money I want my ex husband to make up the shortfall", NO get a dam job.
