We, as a society, of sane and great people, should always be here for the people we love and cherish the most! And being that Vian is a very special person in our hearts, it's a great priviledge that we are able to cheer him on and raise him up as he rises through the ranks. Even if the times get rough, he knows that he has the people he can lean on for advice, laughter, and anything random! It's great to see that we care about this when others don't. We don't know what Vian goes through most of the time, so us as his friends, subscribers, or a member of whatever relationship you have with him, it's important to keep him at his happiest points and for us to be there for him. Put a good smile on his face, y'know? Even if the Bridgett series may be over, it can be stored in the remembrance of the mind and the interest and happy love in your hearts. I always loved the Bridgett series for the almost father-child relationship. But you cannot force someone to feel a certain way. This series was a product of your compassion and your will to make us happy. It's sad, even frustrating, to see how something so good can bring along such sadness. When I watched this I noticed immediately that you sounded a little off. When you started apologizing and crying WHILE still in role play that broke me. I’m so sorry that this happened to you because I can tell you loved and are proud of her, regardless of what she had caused for your community. I really enjoyed the Bridgett videos, but nothing beat the videos where it is just you, being goofy while playing Splatoon without any gimmick to actively abide by. I think that’s where your personality really comes through. There’s an until video specifically, (I can’t remember which one exactly, though it was a longer one,) that will always be my favorite because of how funny you were in it. It was the one when you said “push push push push!” and then made a pregnancy joke. There was a lot more to it but that’s just the bit I think of off the top of my head because I watched it for the first time in the family room and that won me some odd looks lol. I do have fond memories of Bridget, though, and I am really sorry to everyone who was respectfully excited for Bridgett to come back and to you because like I said, I can tell you were excited too. You should be able to do what you want, whether it be a KZbin channel, or anything else really, and it's hard when people try to dictate what you should do when in reality they don't necessarily have that control over you, angry because they don't get what they want. Dear Vian, This is the first video of yours I've watched in almost two years. I'm going to be 18 in less than 2 months, so I'm probably a lot older than most of your audience. And while I don't watch your videos all that often--watching this video made me very emotional. The "Forced Recording" was heart-wrenching to watch and was rather disturbing, but I think that was the point. And as for the rest of the video, it was very sad to hear about how you had to deal with all of these ungrateful "fans" destroying your motivation and outlook on the Bridgett series--no, your videos in general. While mine was never caused by my audience having some individuals who were impatient and rude, I, too, have experienced many periods of burnout. Did I ever feel like I was being forced to work on something? Sometimes, yes, it did feel like that. Was it ever to the extent you've gone through? Definitely not. But putting personal work aside for a second, the beginning of the video was a frightening reminder of the mental health issues I went through earlier this year, after forcing myself to do schoolwork that was part of a very flawed distance learning system. Eventually, it kept piling up, and at my worst I practically broke down and cried, like you did in the video. I eventually decided I couldn't do it anymore, and I had myself exempt from all work for the rest of the year for the sake of my mental health. I'm seeing a therapist and psychiatrist now and things have been turning around. I apologize if any of that made it seem like I was making things about myself--moving back to you, I'll admit it: The videos I watched 2 years ago were Bridgett ones, and they're *technically* the reason I subbed. I suppose it'd be more accurate to say that the Bridgett videos introduced me to your channel and your content. I had followed you on Twitter before then, but it wasn't until then I actually watched your videos. I only saw like...5? Bridgett videos, but I thought they were cute, and I never really forgot about them, even if I admittedly didn't care enough to continue watching them afterward. Watching this video today, although it's good to know that you don't regret making the series and had fun with it when you didn't feel like you were being forced, it's sad to learn of the biggest consequence the videos brought: A small, but vocal minority of viewers who forgot the human behind the screen. No creator should ever have to go through that, PERIOD. Say what you want about the state of doing KZbin as a career today, but I think we can all agree that the best content on the site comes from people who have FUN making their videos, and don't JUST do it because they need to pay bills or please fans.* If there's anything I've taken away from this video, it's that that's the direction you want to go with your KZbin channel going forward, and you know what? I'm going to support you all the way. I may not watch your videos all that often, but that may begin to change; I'm now interested in giving your new videos more of a chance. Although this is now not _somewhat_ true now since Bridgett is back, I hope everyone was happy a year ago with their decisions. It went from a friendly and funny duo, to just a toxic and annoying community that didn’t care about anything else but a digital character in a game. This showed up in my recommended. I don’t know Bridgette, I’ve never watched Vian’s content before, heck I’ve never even seen Splatoon gameplay before. But this video still hit me hard. Hearing that there are people out there who think it’s okay to act so immature and insensitive is upsetting even from an outsider’s point of view. At first, since I had no context coming into the video, all those comments were so demanding and obsessive in regards to Bridgett, I initially thought that Bridgett must be a real person who did some sort of collaboration with Vian. BUT THEN WHEN I REALIZED BRIDGETT WAS A CHARACTER. AND I WAS LIKE. W H A T??!! People are really out there acting like spoiled children over an OC??? This video really caught me off guard, since I had no idea that something as innocent as this content could be swarmed by such scummy people. Vian, addressing this in a video is such a good decision and the message you’re putting out there is really powerful. I’m genuinely proud of you for being able to overcome this struggle and stand up for yourself as a real human being. I’ve seen way too many channels get bogged down by hate like this and leave KZbin altogether, and this video showed to me that it is possible for a content creator to rise above a toxic group of fans and make the content that they want to make. Dear Vian, I've never written anything like this on KZbin before, but my emotions are everywhere so here it goes... As someone who loves roleplaying, creating and learning new lore (with friends irl or by myself in a game), your Bridgett series struck a special chord with me that few other KZbinrs have been able to hit. I personally think the greatest accomplishment a fictional worldbuilder can have is to make a character feel REAL, and to me, Bridgett felt real, as if a completely different person. During the DLC quests, I imagined you shouting her instructions through a little commlink, and later, right alongside her in her adventurers, still being a fatherly figure. And its not just with Bridgett. Your lore with Pearl and Marina, during the Splatfests, and later during the extras, you gave a unique and lovable personality to each of them. And best of all, your interactions with each character almost never broke the immersion, letting me watch your videos from start to finish laughing and smiling at your attempts to woo Marina, chillax with Pearl, and somehow rein in Bridgetts' shenanigans. Oh!, And your conversations in the video with Bridgett in Animal Crossing; that I think, was the best immersion experience I have had on KZbin. But I'm getting beside the point. I will admit, I'm extremely sad to hear Bridgett will be leaving the channel, and disappointed to hear that the less...mature..of us have forced your hand this way, but I understand how creating something not because you want to, but because others tell/expect you to, would be downright disheartening. And so, if you ever see this, I just want you to know just how much you and your channel have meant to me during these darker times. So thank you. For every laugh and smile you've given me, I thank you. I was one of the people that loved the Bridget series, it made me love splatoon 2 even with its flaws, and even though that series was how I found your channel, it doesn’t mean that I haven’t stopped watching with it not being around. Welp, I finally managed to watch the whole Bridgett series, (On a separate account, but still) and I'm shocked at what this has put you through. The Bridgett series is an amazing feat, and I'm very amazed that only one person started this. I don't really care that you shut it down, it's completely not your fault and everyone should understand. All I can say Vian is thank you. Thank you for the amazing Bridgett series you've brought us, and trying everything you can to make every little thing perfect. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next. Bridgette was cool and all, but she doesn’t own the channel. This is VIAN’S channel. Not Bridgette. VIANtastic, not Bridgettetastic. You can’t always want something from someone. He used to enjoy making this but when people started asking more and more and threatening him, it didn’t feel right to make any more. See, I loved Bridgette. But I wouldn’t send death threats to a grown man just because an octopus girl wasn’t on his channel anymore. Get that through your head.
