The FIDE Hamburg Grand Prix is taking place in the Kehrwieder Theater in Hamburg, Germany from November 5-17 2019. The 16-player knockout is the 3rd of four legs of the 22-player Grand Prix series that will determine two places in the 2020 Candidates Tournament. Players compete in 3 of the 4 tournaments, which each have a 130,000 euro prize fund, with 24,000 for 1st place. There are also from 1 (quarterfinal loser) to 8 (winner) Grand Prix points available, plus an additional point for each match win without tiebreaks. The overall series prize fund is 280,000, with 50,000 for 1st place.
Each round consists of two games of classical chess, with a time control of 90 minutes/40 moves + 30 min to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. If the match is tied two 25+10 rapid games are played. If still tied, there are two 10+10 games, then two 5+3. Finally a single Armageddon game is played, where White has 5 minutes to Black’s 4 (with a 2-second increment from move 61) but Black wins the match with a draw. Official website: worldchess.com

Well ,yes you can call it like that because the Rossolimo variation of Sicilian is also called Rossolimo-Nezhmetdinov Variation cuz Nezhy played nice games with it , also Sozin attack in Sicilian is also called Fischer Sozin attack cuz of Fischer playing a lotta good games In it So I don't think this a problem to call it AlphaZero variation

@@james64ibm i think alpha plays like the old masters because they basically figured the game out and then the new masters simply decorated the lines and decided to play more surprising lines. Probably most variations alpha played are named already so he shouldnt have one named after him

I especially enjoy this game because today I've finally reach 1500, I first started playing chess 29 may of this year with a rating of 949 and today, 5 November 2019, I've reach this first symbolic milestone. And it's en enjoyment because I had a game today quite similar to this one, a cramped but constantly agressive position with a whole lot of maneuvering ending in a victory. I'd like to specially thank you, agadmator, as you're one of the key reasons of my growing interest in chess!

So imma guess before I see what the answer is. Im thinking it has to be That Bishop in corner takes pawn(Bb7 x e4). That or the Rook moves down to the corner of the king. But thinking of tempo. Im guessing, get the Bishop involved, and setup a punish on the queen/rooks with the Knight.

Topalov is super strong, ( even he is not so famous for the public) i mean his best years are behind, but he is still super GM, Hikaru is still young. Also super talanted in chess but i think he lack experience.

I did guess the move right because I thought about Capablanca. But I never can figure out why it’s a good move 😂
