Antonio is a true content maker, he reads books and make videos and tells us about the historical contexts of the games while other youtubers only use flashy thumbnails to get views. I'm happy to follow this channel for years instead of other channels.

I will never forget the build-up to the Morphy Series..with the hunt for Staunton, then the immortal lines: "...and the Ruy Lopez is on the board, Morphy plays what you'd expect..the Morphy Defence.." That level of dry irony is due another vintage year..

#suggestion A game by Sue Mararoa Jones who sadly past away after complications from her second pregnancy. Quote: ‘A kind-hearted, generous spirit away from the board, over the board Sue was a tenacious attacking player who relied on her natural talent rather than theoretical book knowledge.’ Like Agadmator someone who saw chess reach across oceans and continents, and like Bobby Fischer, someone who inspired and left us wanting more.

Why didn't the black knight capture the pawn on e4 at the start of the game?
@RandomPerson-fg1jf4 ай бұрын
Lines like that are often possible, and lead to the Open Spanish in a slightly different position, but are generally dangerous for Black, since White can gain a lot of tempi and activity, and often win the pawn back too, with moves like Re1 and d4. Part of the problem is that White has castled, but Black needs at least 2 moves to do the same, so opening up the centre favours White.
