Ah, a mother's love. There is nothing that compares. I miss my beloved husband who went to his final home seventeen years ago, but the feeling of loss at this time of year is always there all these years later. Well, it seems I'm always a day late and a dollar short! And watching the last episode for this year isn't any different! Lol! Great video! I feel so blessed to have my mom living with me these last few years. I lost my dad suddenly several years ago and that trauma of missing him daily, especially around the holidays makes me even more grateful I have this time with her. I was of the impression that baby monkeys in the wild do not suck their fingers. I've seen enough of them now to know I was wrong. They take to attempts at self soothing in the wild too just not near as frequently or as long. They are obviously far less stressed in the wild than they are when they are being treated like a human baby by some captor using them to make videos they are making money off of.

I guess my favorite mum on the hill (Reddy, of course) has skipped the 2022 baby season. I kept watching and hoping, but she never looked pregnant. 😥

I also wonder if Reddy is pregnant. At times she looks pregnant, then other times I'm not certain. Has Reddy hit menopause? AM is still very behind. Remember Gabby is definitely pregnant, and she hasn't given birth yet. So, I'm still hoping Reddy will have a baby this year. Annie's troop has only one baby thus far, Dale. O.K maybe two if you count Wally, Wibby's son. I think this is a very low birth rate. Dana skipped last year. So, is she too old or is she pregnant? Is Annie too old too? How about River from Nora's troop who skipped last year? I think the spring babies have been born and we are waiting for the summer babies. Who knows?

During the first few months I watched this channel, I thought the fruit in Hong Kong was HUGE! There's one video in particular where baby Dopey is next to a giant peach. Until one day when I realized just how tiny the babies are, LOL! I don't think I'm the only one who experienced the giant fruit optical illusion. All that said, I LOVE that Arroz lets us see individuals up close and frames his subject matter so we can really get to know individuals. It would be so overwhelming to always see 20 or 30 or 50 monkeys at a time. He really has a gift for recognizing individuals and conveying their individuality to us.

Why do all those monkeys that are not babies still suck Thier thumbs? Reddy has been a caring loving mother yet her daughter sucks her thumb even at 10 months old. Why? And she's not the only one I've seen do this so I'm wondering why they do this.
