You and Adam need to start hearing the albums of the Keith Jarrett Standards Trio and extracting piano ideas from KJ's bebop sprees!

Can concur about the inspiration. I’m just finishing up a composition that came to me off the back of playing around with the ideas in Adam’s short clip about alternating between a C triad and other major and minor triads.

It's bad enough that you can play like this. But you can talk while you do it!
@DaveCorselloАй бұрын
My thought exactly! I know a multi-instrumentalist who, during the run-through before a church service years ago, told jokes as he was playing a heavy-duty classical piano piece flawlessly. As an extremely single-threaded thinker, I am amazed that anyone can multi-task at that level.
@Gottenhimfella23 күн бұрын
@@DaveCorsello I'm the same, but I'm gradually developing some independence. I started by improvising simple blues using phrase cliches and chord shapes which were semiautomatic, and after a few cycles, start trying to tell an anecdote from my younger years in natural speech patterns (not in front of anyone, yet!). I'm in my late sixties, so I probably should put in a bit more time if I want to be able to do it reliably.

@@Gottenhimfella hmm. That sounds like a worthwhile exercise. I’ll try it.

I wish I could change plan. I would love to get the pro version. It seems I can't during the black Friday. People get to pay what I pay per years with more advantages, while I've been a good student this year.. 😢😢 Is there anything I can do about it ? 🥺
