I've been to San Carlo many times. Now I no longer live in Prague I can't find a decent pizza place anymore. San Carlo Ruined my forever. I went to San Carlo with Italians (not from Naples) And they said they could not get a pizza that good in Italy apart from in Naples. The owner who founded the place is from Naples and you can notice.

Try it in Naples. My top 5 pizza was in Naples :) Even the restaurant says it is italian, and italian ingredients, and everything is italian, I never ate pizza like in Naples. Not in Prague, not in Budapest, not elswhere.

The best pizza I ate in Prague is from Carmelita. We came down from Mount Petrin and there it was, by accident and it was fabulous.

Thanks for the advice, we went to the San Carlo Mala Strana and it was great. Pizza's were excellent, friendly staff and good beer - what else can you ask for?

I ate like 3 times at Johnny Pizza bar. YOu can get a slice on the counter but we always went inside to eat. They offer huge pizzas for less than 10 bucks.

After cooking some pasta with carbonara, the proper way, I sat down to watch this since I know how Italian food should taste and look like. I approve all but the Detroit style from Pilsen. Video is great but it could use more critique.

Also why don't I cook Italian foods if I'm so good at it? I know right, who asked xD. Cause in IT I earn more xD and I don't want to sell overpriced food, seems immoral to me. (or at least I'd have a "student and elderly discount" scheme, 20% off for eating in) so instead of 170 Kč (7,3 €) they'd pay 135 Kč (5,2 €) or about the price of a kebab made with actually good ingredients. That'd add up to 120 Kč *pure profit* and "only" 70 Kč profit for the student one. For this to be viable (I'd just rent a space, I wouldn't buy anything but the stuff to make the pizza itself) I'd have to sell at least 12 pizzas/day, any more would be just purely for profit. But legally speaking, I'm a bachelor IT professional, not a chef. So it's a no-go anyways.

Yeah, throwing all that shade on subway pizza was a bit much. I like most of the subway pizza. If you're on the run at lunchtime, a slice or two of subway pizza hits the spot. If you can, just get slices from a pizza that has just come out of the oven.

I've been eating pizza for over 50 years and if it's one thing I know is, depending who makes it usually determines how good it is. The inconsistency of pizza is amazing in the U.S. I'm referring to any pizza from the same chain. One time it will be outstanding. Another time, less ingredients and served lukewarm. The first pizza in this video turned me off because of so much crust. Way too much. II wouldn't eat that. The rest looked very good.

San Carlo is actually the anti-reco for me - I hate pizza that you cannot pick up with your hands because the crust is a soggy mess. One of the tastiest italian pizzas I had was in Alforno, where they even have pizza with eggplant base (vs the standard tomato or cream base). Also it's not a proper czech pizza experience if you don't try a cranberry pizza - it's italian style but I'm fairly sure czech people invented it because nobody outside of Czechia ever heard of it. It's my favorite pizza ever

Guys, you weren't very fair to Johnny Pizza. You labeled it "slices only" because you went to the take-out place. The restaurant sells full pizzas - very large and VERY good. We always stay nearby, and a visit to Johnny is inevitable, since we are there for several weeks. Have to try San Carlo, though!

The lack of culinarian culture here in these comments is wild. Neapolitan Pizza is without a doubt the most superior Pizza in the whole world. It´s the only Pizza which is even declared a cultural heritage of humanity. When it comes to taste that is of course always arguably, but quality is surely not.
