I think it is even crazier how I am able to look back at all the things that have turned me into who I am, without me even realizing they did. I remember staying up all night at my grandmas house building a rollercoaster on Minecraft with my friend...I also remember talking to someone on COC, and they meant so much to me, but now they are just gone living their life. Like I wonder if they still remember me or not. My bad yall it’s like 4 in the morning and I want to cry

A car battery is 12V, the reason it draws high current is because of low internal resistance so if you short-circuit the output (As if you were trying to light a spark) it would draw huge amounts of current. However, the human body is fairly resistive (around 1M ohm to 10K ohms) and so 12 volts barely draws any current. You would by far have more current flowing through your body by licking a battery because your mouth is less resistive than attaching a car battery anywhere to your body.

@killer151146 жыл бұрын
Lewis, it is indeed amps that kill you but that is not the whole story. Because you need enough volt to overcome your body resistance witch then allows current to flow and kills you. For instance with the car battery there are so few volts that hardly any current flows so you don't even notice.

It’s really strange how all these maps are filled with ancient CRT monitors and TVs. Which of course all makes sense considering it’s using HL2 models and HL2 is from the early 2000’s. But it’s still weird.
@TrollFaceTheMan6 жыл бұрын
7:36, Lewis it's not that the battery doesn't have enough Amps... On the contrary the battery has plenty enough amps to both hurt you seriously or even kill you... It's that it doesn't have a high enough voltage to effectively push sufficient amps through the resistance of your skin and other tissues. If you hook the 12v battery up to an inverter to increase voltage which will lower amperage consequently, at 120v the amperage will be 1/10 (Theoretically) of at it's 12v state but it can very much kill you meaning once again it's a voltage issue, not amps.

Lewis actually got it backwards "Amps are the Speed of the Water, Volts are the size of the river" The idea is that it doesn't matter how big the body of water is, setting foot in the ocean won't kill ya after all, but rapid WILL simply because they'll throw you at objects or drag you under the current. CURRENT, like in the speed of water IS AMPS. *Amps = Current*

v = ir (volts = currentxresistance) v/r = i #so a huge voltage can be mitigated by high resistance and not be dangerous, however a high current is a high current regardless.

You can't get killed by truck batteries either unless you're a toddler. 12v or even 24v batteries aren't a high enough voltage to drive the amps through your heart. It only takes 1.6 amps or somewhere around that to kill you but you need to one be connected to ground without an efficient electrical insulator like rubber inbetween you and the ground to prevent you from conducting the electricity. Some people survive 240v and lightning strikes because of rubber soles.
@vegisaynom6 жыл бұрын
The current that passes through you is dependent on the resistance of your body, because V=IR, and if you use a 12V car battery rather than a 24V truck battery, you'll have less current flow through you, because the voltage is lower. Also, if your skin is wet, you'll conduct better, so you'll have more current flow through you

7:35 It wont kill you, But for a different Reason, It Has way more then enough amps to kill you, The amps are the amount of current. The issue is that the voltage or the amount of force that is pushing the amps of the batteries is not high enough to conduct threw your skin and heart. Also When any one says, " Volts don't kill you amps do " has one of the biggest misinterpretations of it. Amps and volts are not different versions of electricity, you need both to do any thing with it. Think of it like water going threw a pipe, ( A classic example ) With out voltage ( The amount of water pressure ) is not high enough. It can't Push the water it self ( The current ) And If you don't have enough water ( The current ) the water wont do much.
@panzerschrekIOI6 жыл бұрын
Nope smith, batteries are DC which means that in order to break the insulation of your skin, the voltage (not the amps) need to be higher than if it was an AC source. It basicaly can't puncture the skin. Try licking a 9v battery and touching both terminals of a 9v battery with your hands and see how different it feels (Ie you can feel the battery on your tongue but not your fingers)
@jonathanrosskamp3244 жыл бұрын
"volts dont kill you,amps do." this a real "bruh" momento. (thats wrong,volts do kill you.)
@EitanTsur6 жыл бұрын
12V is too low to get past the skin; car batteries can generate several hundred amps worth of current, far more than necessary to kill a person. Because the voltage is so low however, the external skin resistance negates the ability for that current to enter very far into your body. The only way it can be dangerous is if you either A: have high frequency switching of the voltage, or B: have higher voltage. If that voltage is applied internally past the skin however, all bets are off. Don't pierce yourself with electrodes plugged into a car battery.
@snakesocks6 жыл бұрын
Except car batteries are DC, so Voltage frequency doesn't apply. Also, "several hundred amps" is more than some power stations produce. It'll probably be a couple of hundred mA. Still enough to kill.
@panner116 жыл бұрын
The difference is that power stations produce that amount current across tens of thousands volts. Car batteries can push hundreds of amps, but only across super low resistance circuits like when you boost a car with jumper cables. The only thing that made no sense was "resistance negates the ability for that current to enter very far into your body". Resistance inhibits the flow of current directly, it doesn't keep the current flowing on the surface of your body or some such nonsense. V=IR answers everything. Car batteries are 12V, truck can be 24V, so in order for a car battery to achieve a couple hundred mA, your body's resistance would have to ~100ohms. Even with wet skin or a wound, your body would be 1000ohms at the lowest, so the max current that could flow is about 24 mA.
@dumle296 жыл бұрын
You're fine with either truck or car batteries. They are 24v for trucks, 12v for cars. Amps = voltage / resistance. Yes, batteries can deliver a LOT of amps, but only if the load across it (your nipples in Lewises case) has low enough resistance. You'd be safe

12 or even 24 volts will not hurt you unless you short the battery out and get it to explode. Not even with wet salty skin on a open wound had low enough restitance to allow that low of voltage to push a dangerous current.

on the subject of the car battery discussion in this video, as an electrician i can assure you that any functional car battery that you connect to either side of your heart will kill you (for example, clamping your nipples or holding the power outputs in either hand). It only takes 75 milliamps (.075 amps) to disrupt an average human heartbeat, and anything over 1 amp will stop it completely and most likely kill you for good (no chance to restart your heart due to electricity burning it). If the battery isn't functional or has been drained, you should be ok, just be careful because if it isn't fully drained you could still die or get seriously injured. now when it comes to connecting them to your balls, you most likely won't die from the electricity, but you could die from infection after your testicles and scrotum take electrical burn damage, which will hurt, a lot. there's a reason the electrical signs say "DANGER! DO NOT TOUCH! Not only will this kill you, it will hurt the whole time you're dying." Being electrocuted to death is by far one of the worst ways to go because you can be cooking from the inside out for minutes in the right conditions. be careful with car batteries

You're typical car battery outputs 12 volts, while a larger truck or bus battery outputs 24 volts. Any car battery is capable of outputting enough amps to kill you, however humans are very electrically resistant, and therefor at 12-24 volts, we will not typically pass enough amps to even feel.
