Where's the Switch?! Audio Technica AT2040 vs Audio Technica AT2035 (Dynamic vs Condenser)

Is 2040 need a lot of gain? I sold my at2020 and i was thinking to upgrade on 2035 or 2040 for recording vocals. Any suggestions?

If your doing vocals for singing the. Go with the 2035. If you are doing more streaming, podcasting then go with the 2040. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for checking out the video!

Have you had a chance to try the bp40? I really want to grab a dynamic broadcast mic and love AT.

I’ve seen a couple of videos on it and I’m pretty sure TimTheTatMan uses one. I don’t see it used a lot but I’m sure there are others out the that use it. From what I’ve heard it seems like a mic that has to fit the persons voice, rather than making a mic fit you. Not sure how it is the post processing. Hopefully one day I can get one. The 2035 sounds better than the 2040.

the 2040 sounds pretty bad to me, all mids and not natural sounding at all, the condenser sounds much nicer

If at some point in the future, you get your hands on a BP40, the AT2040 will have to come out of retirement. Hahaha!
