On the roof of a hotel in Buenos Aries, we kind of snuck on to, at night, while drinking wine watching the city from 3rd or 4th story. Technically it was a tablet, playing Settlers, but I'm counting it. It was a surreal memory.

On a River bed. We were camping, and we took it to the river bed while the kids threw rocks and caught tadpoles. Not the most convenient location.

@@NightsAroundaTable haha yes. That was a big concern. We used a waterproof picnic blanket. Thankfully it wasn’t windy outside. We played Splendor, Yahtzee (I know it isn’t a board game, and people like to mock it, but it is a lot of fun for families), and unsuccessfully attempted Catan. Do not try Catan. It was a bold move on our part, and it did not pay off. It did work out once we were back at our campsite though.
