I'd certainly love to spend more time in the larger cities as I'm a newbie to Vietnam - although also like the idea of living more among the locals to really soak up the real culture. Thanks for sharing.

The demand for learning English in Vietnam is huge...it is important that you know how to organize, to become a reputable center that supports Vietnamese education, and at the same time you become a profitable education investor.

How do I go about finding a job in Vietnam if I’m currently outside of Asia?

Hey Alex I am an alum of your program. Can you comment at all on the state of English teaching going into 2025 and beyond? There has been quite a bit of negativity on social media lately with English centers cutting hours and some people making pretty extreme takes that entry level English teaching jobs will largely be a thing of the past in the coming years thanks to the English entrance exam change that was made earlier in the year along with university requirements etc. Rumblings too about the state of the Vietnamese economy. Thanks man!

In our experience schools are still hiring new teachers every month. Salaries are around the same and living expenses go up with inflation, of course, but it's not high in Vietnam. I'd take comments online with a grain of salt because people draw big conclusions from anecdotal cases without necessary understanding what's happening in the market. For example, many companies were aggressively expanding in the last couple of years, and now are reigning back a bit on growth. That doesn't mean the market is declining, just stabilization at a certain level, and there's still a healthy demand for well-trained and competent ESL teachers. The change around English not being a required subject (for high school exam only) isn't that big of a deal cause the ESL market is mostly for primary education anyway.

What is your plan and budget ?
@ninja.teacherАй бұрын
It depends on if you do private one-on-one lessons with a teacher or through an English learning app. You can check out the different apps to see pricing which will be the easiest option.

Just watch a lot of English speaking videos or movies. That will help you a lot with listening skills. Practicing speaking the language, maybe find an English speaker who is willing to teach you English while you teach them Vietnamese.
