Kotobukiya being in charge of ACVI model kits are not "rumors": it was announced on their Twitter weeks before ACVI's release. Unfortunately they have yet to actually announce any ACVI model kits since then, but it's a fact that they're the ones making the ACVI kits.

Bandai should've made some AC6 model kits too. Maybe in different scale, like Bandai's version in 1/60 scale while Kotobukiya's in 1/48 scale. That should've worked, seeing that 1/60 scale AC mechs would've been as big as HGs, and by that proxy Bandai could make a bunch more 1/60 AC6 kits with a better compatibility with HG Gundam, HG Kyoukai Senki line, and 30 Minutes Mission model kits.

We're talking about AC6 model kits because AC6 broke the barrier of irrelevancy of nowaday's mecha genre, specifically on the gaming sector. And you know this game gained attraction to non-mecha fans, because people have been hyped this game, promising that AC6 would bring familiar elements from FromSoft games, but will also being unique experience to make this game stands out. AC6 is probably the best-selling mecha game to date.

While they are certainly more expensive, I have recently grown to like the Hexagear Line. While certain parts may require extra work to become 'compatible' with others I really like how sturdy the entire line is as how well different parts can work together given some imagination. The 'kitsune' tails of one kit can become a claw arm or boosters for another, a shield can become side skirts or thrusters. Really brings out the kid in me.

Coolest thing about AC6 is that you can easily make designs that heavily resemble mobile suits from across the Gundam franchise; especially G-Witch's Zowort (since that mechanical designer for the anime also did designs for this game & past Armored Core games). ^ I've seen that someone recently made a custom "Sazabi" mech as well.

Funny thing is it was thanks to your videos from a few years ago about 30 minute missions that got me into getting my first model in the first place along with the weapon pack and the jetpack. Also wow you did a pretty good job with at least attempting to do rusty's AC and I think he would be proud at the attempt. That being said I agree we do need some armored core model kits from bandai which would make sense considering they are pretty much the top tier people to go to whenever you think about model kits either of them or the guys who do the zoids ones. Either way that is a pretty good attempt and thanks to showing us that big blue 30 minute mission kit it's making me want to look app and see how much that is so curse you Mecha you got me into another robot lol. Y’all, fun fact, the pharact is designed by a guy who designs ACs. He was prolly working on the pharact and AC 6 at the same time. Which is funny, because the name of the pharact’s beam sniper is the “Beam Arquebus”. Cool little thing I found

I don’t believe Wataru Inata (Pharact and Zowort’s designer) worked on AC6. It’s also likely both projects had decided to use the Arquebus name purely by coincidence considering they were in development at the same time and would’ve chosen names early on. (Arquebus itself being a type of large gun from the 15th century, so perhaps it fits WFMs use of the word better.) Another neat coincidence is both projects using the ‘Alea Iacta Est’ phrase and Cataphract (which is where the Pharact’s name comes from)

Now I'm just assuming this but I remember a little before Kotobukiya came out with the MSG parts sets, they used to be Armored Core accessory sets and its possible Frame Arms branched off from the Armorer Core kits. Then Bandai probably made 30 Minute Missions as an attempt to compete with Frame Arms and the Modelling Support Goods (MSG) of Koto. So I guess 30 Minute Missions might have been unintentionally Bandai AC kits

Quad-leg designs are easy; take two kits (probably the same design) and connect the pelvic units via their midsection ball-joints. If you use a T-shaped piece of sprue (most kits have at least some 3MM sprue) and make the vertical section long enough, you can clear the top of the assembly and have a connection point for the upper body. Depending on the particular kits you use and the orientations, you'll have a few ports to work with for extra connection points and support. Plus the skirt armour mounts can be rotated towards each other and connected for extra strength, or left pointing outwards for mounting other gubbins. I have the two pelvises as the two halves on the design I've done, but you could have them as front-and-back of the combined block too, so different base kits could work that way

Fun fact about the hanger in Armored Core 6, after playing the game a few times I realized that the hanger is actually just Walters helicopter that you see in a few cutscenes, and the hanger is almost like an extremely large shipping container held by the helicopter, and fitted to hold AC's.

You can always just carve your own U-Mags out of pla plate. or buy another weapon set and modify that. I see lots of people in japan just take 30 Minute Sister option parts and break them down to usable supplies when they modify mecha musume because of how cheap and re-buyable they are.

I think the thing with the old AC kits were they are definitely kits you NEED to paint to make them look really good. They're kits you need to put loads of effort in to get them "just right." The 30mm kits are fun, just wish more US stores had stock of some kits more often, lol.

Kotobukiya takes their time, but the results have started improving, in recent years. Their Metal Gears have been quite nice to put together and good to pose. I wouldn't expect them until middle of next year, though. They announced their first Ace Combat kit June 2017 and didn't release it until November 2019, and each subsequent kit was announced and released at around the same 2 year timeframe.

This month is a great month for mecha game fans, armored core 6 (I haven’t played it but it looks like the best single player mecha game I’ve seen) released, and titanfall 2 (the best fps multiplayer game in existence) has been fully revived. I don’t know why it’s happened but you know I’m absolutely having a blast. It seems like the devs are leaving clues in the game too, chances for more titanfall content still exists. If anyone ever thought about getting the game and stopped cause of the hacks a couple years back, please play it and share the news that it’s back around.

they can keep doing boxes of the complete units, but they ought to make make a website thats like a simplified version of the in-game parts shop. you go down the list and build it like you would ingame and then the "paint" option just chooses the color of plastic for the primary, secondary, etc. something this custom would obviously cost more, but id be willing to pay more if i could have my exact nachtreir/spring chicken, plasma/pilebunker, 8 missile/laser cannon AC i call "bigfoot" in my purple and gold paint job.

I used 2 of the new heavy cannon sets and it now looks like an armor core dinosaur with rabiot riding on top, I just need to find my little pieces to fill in the empty 3mm holes. It's really funny to me that like, half of the Soulsborne games have been published by Bandai, but only the last three AC games, so their entire line of models have all been made by Kotobukiya instead. And Kotobukiya doesn't have the market share that Bandai does; I doubt they have the kind of overhead that they can just tool up a whole new product line in a couple of months. I wouldn't be surprised if they were waiting for the game to come out to gauge how much interest there would be in it, which probably contributes to how much they're going to invest into an AC6 product line. Also, the ACV kits are amazing. The only 4th gen kit I've built is Aaliyah Supplice, (which itself is not that bad and has much better color separation than the White Glint model,) but the 5th gen models look like actual military models. Like, the level of detail in game for the parts was very high, and actually grounded in real life technology, and the parts in the 5th gen kits reflect this. So they have a lot more surface detail and greebling than you usually get on, say, a Gundam kit. Also also, I appreciate the shoutout to AoZ for "Armored Core-ish" kits from the Gundam universe. As someone who got into Gundam *through* playing Armored Core, (Gundam 00 reminded me a lot of AC4, and it was only because of this comparison that my friends were able to get me to watch it,) I still think the AoZ kits are the absolute best line in Gunpla. Also also also, while the 30MM kits are certainly good for the AC aesthetic and customizability, Kotobukiya's own Frame Arms are clearly also drawing at least subconscious inspiration from the same place. They also have much more variety than 30MM and while the older releases of the kits weren't great for build quality, the re-released runs of even old kits have seemingly all been retooled and tend to fit together much better. Admittedly, still probably best for someone who's comfortable doing a little bit of preparatory maintenance, like sanding pieces down that don't mate properly, or gluing pieces together that have a tendency to hand grenade apart, but they're all still miles better than an MG Exia.

I only hope that if there are armored core sets through namco, I desperately want them to be compatible with 30mm for further customization, at least for the weapons and the joints if possible

Kotobukiya is more known for doing AC (Ace Combat) model kits. They CAN do good kits, like the Metal Gear Rex model from the Metal Gear Solid series.

Theres a lot of mech series I’ve always wanted Bandai kits for. I’ve always wanted some Titanfall model kits, those are some awesome real robot designs. I would instantly buy some armored core kits, if nothing else but to remake my own AC that I used for most of AC6, maybe an iguazu because I gotta respect how committed he is to being a professional hater.
