It truly is a feeling looking at videos by Pikmin KZbinrs talking about their want, hopes, and wondering just where Pikmin 4 is. Knowing now, on this date in the year 2022, we know Pikmin 4 is finally on the horizon next year. Thank you Arlo for your continued love of this series, as you were part of the reason why I finally picked up my courage to try a Pikmin game. I may not have struggled like the rest of the fandom, almost 9 years each between releases, but the burning desire for more Pikmin burns within me too. I'm waiting, right alongside you and many others.

I played the hell out of the original pikmin on GameCube when I was like, 7 or 8. And then again when pikmin 2 came out in 04 when I was 9. And when 3 came out I got it close to launch day if not on launch day. It’s been nearly a decade since then. I’m a whole adult, almost 20 years older than I was when the series first launched. I’ve watched games come and go, communities come up and die out, server launches and server retirements. This is the one that hurts the most. Not because it’s dead but because we haven’t heard anything in years, and I’m getting worried we might be getting Duke Nukem’d here. Pikmin 3 was great and I’ve heard the deluxe release is incredible, and if that’s where the series leaves us, that might be okay. But I’d really like one more great pikmin game to close it out.

1. Most of them are tiny spin-off mini-games. (Meanwhile Mario gets 2-3 full fleshed games whether they're spin-offs or not and that not only gets a pass but seems to be actively encouraged XP) 2. Different studios that handle different things. If HAL can make that many Kirby games and the Pikmin Studio can't, then it's more the Pikmin Studio's fault than Kirby getting "preferential treatment". 3. By that logic, on the flip side why keep making Pikmin games when there's so few of them over these many years? Why not can the series and direct those resources to another series so it can get more games? All that isn't a good reason for the series to end, mind you. But at the same time neither is shaming another series for getting more games solely because another series gets less. Especially as stated before if the studios making these series aren't the same and don't interfere with each other's production and rate of releases.

@@beelzzebub Actually having Pikmin 3 on the system is not the worst idea. Since the game was on a console no one played, publishing on the Switch would expose it to a larger audience and thus allow Nintendo to gauge whether or not there is interest in a Pikmin game. Also Pikmin 3 does not deserve to rot away on the Wii U and should be brought over. I mean if they brought over the 'new' super mario bros game from Wii U then surely something like Pikmin 3 should be brought over. Hell maybe even HD remaster the original 2 Pikmin games while they're at it also.

Matthew Harrup If you take the difference of the Pikmin 1 to Pikmin 2 gap and the Pikmin 2 to Pikmin 3 gap, you get 6 extra years; 9 + 6 = 15 and 2013 + 15 = 2028 so therefore Pikmin 4 will come out in 2028... maybe

Last time I played Pikmin I was in elementary school. Now I'm in highschool and I'm still waiting for Pikmin 4. Pikmin 3 is what got me into gaming so it holds a special place in my heart. I have so many memories of when I played it. I remember I would always get lost because back then my sense of direction was garbage. I remember the yellow pikmin were my favorite because I thought they were the cutest with the big ears and no mouth. Sort if like how I liked waddle dees. And I remember that I would feel bad for losing even one pikmin because I loved them so much. Sometimes I would even cry if I lost too many. I would get so scared to fight a boss and would have to ask one of my brothers to do it for me. Eventually I moved onto other games because pikmin was too difficult for me and eventually I forgot about it. But I bet if I were to play it now I would do a lot better. But I can't play it because my wii u is broken beyond repair. So I want Pikmin 4, dammit!

Mother 3 is a game only released in Japan, but many fans of the series want a localized version, Nintendo hasn’t made on though, and many have given up hope. I was making a joke that pikmin 4 will also be highly anticipated but not released for decades.

@@fool9711 The problem is more that Mother 3 is basically unlocalisable. There are some very, very heavy themes in the game including death and the use of psychodelic drugs. If Nintendo was to release Mother 3 in the West, it would probably receive very high age ratings (an M in North America, either a 16 or an 18 in Europe). To censor Mother 3 would entail removing several parts of the game which are core to its plot. There is a fan translation which exists, and NoA has done absolutely nothing about it. Every so often, the people who made the fan translation sell GBA cartidges of it, but the easiest way to do so is with an emulator, and we know how Nintendo dislikes emulators. This is unlike Mother 1 (also known as Earthbound Beginnings) which was fully localised in English but was never released due to its localisation being completed after the SNES released. That game was later put onto the WiiU Virtual Console, but that was basically putting a game that was already localised onto their online distribution storefront.

We do have Pikmin 3 Deluxe on Switch, and a mobile game akin to Pokemon Go, but no Pikmin 4. It looks like the next console is the earliest we can expect it at all at this point. Poor Arlo…..
