Honestly some of the mansions look like over glorified bungalows or shacks. They sacrificed beauty for panaromic views. Don't bother watching this before minute 11. Quite a few horrible penitentiary-style concrete residences captured in this video, a lot of moneyed vulgarity. I see nothing as impressive as what I viewed when there, in 1980. I guess in the intervening years there's been a sprawling well beyond the little bay I saw, where lack of space demanded exquisite architectural wonders alone to take up the bay. Only around the 11th minute, once well into the lower bay, do I see much that's worthy of the reputation of this place. Even then, I don't detect a fine eye for the better houses.

@@sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu6298 no person wants his or her country to be portrayed in a bad and undermining way. Why would you leave your country to show poor people in another country. That is twisted. The last time I checked it was Westerners who were doing that and we were all unhappy with that. Europeans, Asians and Americans don't show bad side of their countries. Have you seen BBC, CNN, AL Jazeera, RT News showing poverty in Europe, America and Middle East showing poverty and squalor in their regions. Can you imagine a type of backlash South African vloggers would get if they were to go to African countries and show poverty and squalor. I doubt you understand the ernomous psychological impact of perpertual negative portrayal of the other, what that does to the self esteem of the subject. Most african vloggers who come to South Africa are reinforcing the western narrative of nothing but poverty, crime, grime and squalor in south africa. Paved roads are actually everywhere in South Africa even villages. You people have to stop this colonization, slavery mentality of thinking only a White man can achieve a certain standard of development. What most of you don't realize is that the modern beauty of South Africa was actually brought after transitioning from White governance to Black leadership. So when you see paved and amazing infrastructure don't be fooled into believing it was developed during apartheid, all of this expansion and blooming was done under Black leadership. South Africans have a natural maintenance culture compared to most of the African population. You walk in the streets of a big city like Johannesburg and you notice the difference in how South Africans take care of their surroundings compared to our African counterparts. An ordinary South African walking down the street will find a bin to throw their trash but a none South African find it normal to just fling their litter on the street.
