it does... it can work to the Em (iii) or as substitution for G7 (V7) to I.

I just started a few months back learning piano, also with a focus on music theory. And like to fiddle around with synthesizers. learning scales and chords is one thing, but how do harmonics work and how put them to use effectively. So your channel comes in right in time for me. Thanks for this. I am still having a hard time getting my head around modes and keys. Would each mode and each key have its own circle of fifths, or is the one you show here the one ring to rule them all? It seems that the circle of fifths would help me to figure out which chords would work well with with a given mode, but I don't yet see how. I also don't yet see how the "spicy" chords fit in -- those triads that are not within a the 3 or 4 chord "standard" range that you might throw in to change a tune from trite to luscious.

hmmm. modal conceptions often toss out the tonic/dominant relationships in favor of a more free motion. so in one sense, yeah, this is the one cycle to rule them all. examined in this video is the use of replacement Dominants, so pairs of ii V7 work within the system. i.e. Em7/A7 Dm7/G7

Do you have any tri-tone substitutions? Why do they need to be substituted? D o they sound too harsh?
