Thank you for watching and yes I agree these small historic villages are so quaint and beautiful. They really have a great lifestyle and community feel. You can see the people here genuinely take pride in their town and are so warm and inviting. These 2 towns were great that they had a railway station and bus service so they were easily accessible. Have a great weekend. 🙂💛👋😍

Thanks for a nice video. Locorotondo seems to be quite a bit more touristy in comparison to Martina (at least from your video), and season has barely started yet. So I can imagine things are going to get quite busier in both.

Yes from the video we were in Locorotondo at lunchtime and in Martina France in siesta time. Shops and Restaurants close between 1pm-5pm in the most Southern Italian towns.

What time of the year were you filming? Trying to figure out the best time to go.

We were there between end of May to September. We found May and June were the less crowded periods. Once July came the heat and the crowds followed. August was the craziest month. All the Italian are on holidays and it's common for the people in the north to holiday in the south for its beaches. I have been in Italy in September and October and also found it pleasant with the weather and it's fast becoming popular to visit that time of year too. We love the summer therefore we didn't mind the heat and the crowds. It created and wonderful energy in the town and lots of Italian festivals to visit and night in many different towns. There is so much more to do and the shops and cafes are opened during summer months. The winter season is cold and still pretty but I found the towns resembled ghost towns. There wasn't many people unless your were in Rome, Florence and Milan like major cities. The smaller towns in the south are very quiet and many commercial places closed. Once Spring hits in mid April everything begins to open again in preparation for the summer. Personally I would say April to June is a great time (spring season).
